After Doyle's performance on Wednesday, does he get a chance to play in Norwoods role? Doyle is better defensively but Norwood is better offensively. Would like to see Doyle as play maker at the back and Norwood in the number 10 role. Or am I bat crazy?

Some of the composure and link up between Doyle and McAtee was brilliant, we don't see it much as they usually either come on for each other or at different sides of the pitch so the 4 midfielder idea is a great back up.
Think these two will play a great part in the run in (My answer is Norwood though)

We’ll go back to our usual starting line up at the weekend minus Anel.

I actually think our best football of the season came in the first Blackburn and Reading fixtures where I think we played Doyle - Norwood - Berge in midfield so I’d probably do that if I was Hecky. Illi and Oli ahead

I think Fleck Norwood and Berge start at Blackburn.

Hecky knows a point at Ewood is a cracking result he will want to be solid in the middle of the park.

If it's one of the other then it's Norwood every day of the week.

Look I was as proud as punch with them all on Wednesday evening and they played out of their skins. But tomorrow is a different kettle of fish. Not a free hit against a seemingly bewildered Spurs side, instead a tense match against another team who could, could, potentially still catch us and who have hit a vein of form.

Hopefully, it's a repeat of the drubbing at the Lane but I expect a tough, nervy game and it's the best proven 11 that need to step out under those circumstances.

Norwood comes back in no point even debating that.

Whether Doyle also starts as well is the real question.

But then we have one of Fleck, Mcatee, Berge and to a lesser extent Coulibaly to fit in.

After having question marks on the midfield we suddenly have some decent competition with none of either Fleck, Doyle and Berge injured for the first time in ages.

Doyle was superb midweek and looked what we'd hoped he'd be, a midfielder on his 2nd loan from one of the richest clubs in the world. He was a 9/10. He did everything that Norwood does plus more and makes me far so much more relaxed about Norwood getting injured. Norwood starts but if he's marked out of the game then Doyle comes in.

I get what you're saying, Norwood has been excellent this season but I mentioned it the other day that although one game was Wrexham the two games Doyle started we seemed to move the ball forward alot quicker with Doyle in the middle as where not just looking for Norwood to pick it up an move it sideways or diagonal. It's a very good problem to have but Norwood will start.

I get what you're saying regards defence/attack but Norwood is massively underrated defensively - is regularly in the top 2/3 for interceptions

Agree that Norwood will start. But he too needs competition, and Doyle showed he can do a very similar type of job for the team. I remember Guardiola saying he believed Doyle was best in an attacking role, but it's hard to see the reasoning behind that after Wednesday.

Norwood's form hasn't been great of late, let's hope he's back to his best tomorrow.

If I understood the press conference right Hecky said Doyle had been brought in as back up for Norwood, but as Ollie had played so well and stayed fit he (Doyle) had been used in other roles.

It really was noticeable though on Wednesday that Doyle was doing a more than passable Norwood imitation.

I'd imagine Man City are quite pleased to have Doyle alongside Norwood, learning his trade.

Both for now ,if promoted I would imagine we need athletic midfielders in. Norwood will be 32, age is not his side, up against PL midfielders.

Anyone suggesting Norwood as a number 10 deserves abuse

Doyle would be a great long term Norwood replacement at championship level but if he can't stay fit we can't sign him

If they play the dreaded 4-2-3-1 they have been lately and that we've struggled against ( boro and Millwall both enjoyed way too much space running in behind our back 3 ) then I'd play them both in front of a flat 3 with the wing backs pushed up and berge and ndiaye behind mcburnie

That's my thoughts as well, especially with the press they showed to score their goals against Leicester - it also gives an extra option to pass the ball out to so we don't have to go more direct all the time.

Play them both.
I like them both and I like Doyle if Norwood can't play but Norwood is the man we need, he has the experience of getting promotion and that could be key. Plus I love him a little bit.

I would say reverse. Norwood better defensively and Doyle offensively. I suspect we will see Norwood, Fleck and Berge today and Doyle back in for one of them on Wednesday.

The right answer is Doyle and norwood
