Worse to come

I hate the Premier league, hate it's shite VAR and top team bias that even with VAR still shines through...

Love it's money though, even though you need to overspend to try and survive, which catches up with billionaire-less owned clubs, leaving them worse off in the end.

The statistic of former Premier league clubs that end up in league one is all you need to look at, overspend and it puts the club in a tailspin when you didn't return promptly.

Pigs have been out of it for a lifetime for that very reason.
No it’s because they lost to Hull at Wembley.

I honestly believe we have some of the most negative bedwetter fans in the world. l will go as far as to say that a lot of our fans love it when things go bad and almost prefer it, so that they can start "look at me threads about how shit we are" for attention. I honestly believe some of our fans prefer it when its crap! You can measure this by the fact there is more new threads and comments are this site when we had a poor result.
Insecure virgins

We must have the most pessimistic fans in england ( me included ) where as forest fans and borough fans roard them on to success we just sit there Quiet as mice with ocassional moaning.
They were/are on a roll. We have finally been found out. Emperors New Clothes.
If we were "doing a Boro" the place would be rocking. Our fans are no different to any others, other than having been let down countless times at the last minute. Blame the management, not the loyal long suffering supporters!

Yeah I stand corrected the fucking wankers did didn't they 😂😂😂😂

How many years now they been wank and playing in shit leagues getting hammered every Saturday, do you know, cus I'm not great at how long cus it's been a lifetime..

Edit: what's almost as funny is thier best players a bald old cunt..

absolute bollocks.

I’d struggle to put a number on the amount of times this club has broken my heart. But last day relegations, lower league mediocrity, dodgy owners, board room battles, crippling debt, too many wilderness years and not having a pot to piss in, are merely a selection of thing’s I’ve learned to live with. But if we do manage to fuck it up this season, after having such a commanding lead, I might have seek specialist counselling.

I want us to go up because we need to for the finances. But I expect if we do achieve it we’ll be in for a real slog of a season with an average coaching team, and a squad in need of major surgery to have a chance in anyway with GK, LCB, LWB, midfield and attack all in need of immediate improvement.

With all due respect ive been a supporter for 67 years and except for a few games near the end of the season we are a very subdued lot, thats always been my view.

The amount of bed wetting on this forum over the past week has been record breaking.

We’ve lost two games.

We’re 4 points clear of Boro with a game in hand.

I understand there is momentum and all that, but you’d think we’re about to be relegated with some of the negativity on here.
I think it's an immediate reaction to over halfing your deficit in a few days and the way it happened. No one (I don't think) is expecting us to never lose but we've witnessed the team seemingly give up lately when they were riding fairly high and that's difficult to see.

Similarly I don't think anyone would be disappointed to see us lose to a big Premier league side. Our first season back we lost 1-0 to Liverpool at the lane and I couldn't have been prouder of the team. The season after we lost, was it 2 or 3-0 at Southampton in one of the most pathetic displays I've seen from United and it was embarrassing.

We're supposed to be the if not one of the top sides in this division, we have some outstanding players and a great team spirit but they've been really off the pace lately. Now we're on the backfoot being chased by a very in form side. To lose the lead we had would be embarrassing and the consequences are pretty huge if we do that.

No ones bed wetting because we've lost 2 matches, they're pissed off at this squad not performing to full potential and seemingly pissing away a promotion.

Must have spent half a century at different games as me or sedated.

You another Boro fan?

There's alot of factors to why Blades fans are negative... just off top of my head;

. 14 point gap closed to 4
. No signings in January (Was needed)
. Dodgy "rich men" wanting to buy the club
. Current owner skint
. Debts/installments not being paid
. Transfer embargo out of nowhere
. Injuries every week
. Performances not been matching results

This isn't me bedwetting, I'm just giving a few examples as to why some fans may seem negative when things were going well.

Never lasts the good times being a Blade 👍

I was mulling similar things over when all the embargo stuff came out and I think football is a cesspit of broken promises. For me, I would much rather the club be honest about their aims at the start of a season. If they turned round and said "the money's dried up a bit, we need to cut our cloth, re-group and start again so we are going to try and pick off some better lower league talent and a handful of youth and see how it goes with no expectation" I'd be perfectly fine with it and enjoy watching how it all pans out. However, others would simply not go to the games on the back of a lack of ambition. Each to their own I guess. Paradoxically, if there was a situation where they said "We are gonna chuck £2bn and buy our way to the top table" I'd probably stop going :D
Isn’t that pretty much exactly what was said at that press conference when Hecky became manager?

You missed off Kop tickets not being sold.

I think what im trying to say its always the players that have to get us going and never ever other way round
Again you've been to diferent games to me my friend.
Pigs at home 3-2 1970
Cardiff/Watford at home 1971.
Every home game 1971/72.
Every home game through thin and thick thereafter.
Every away game through thin and thick thereafter.
Amazing support for decades given shocking returns to fans.
Id say we are incredible fans based on return on investment.
Every Wembley no show.
Every PO no show
Only Newcastle have achieved even less than us over 50years .
Blades fans are unique.
They deserve so much more than successive shocking ownership has delivered and save Harris, Bassett,Warnock and Wilder have managers that delivered absolutely nothing.
Get off the fans back. They pour their hard earned down a pointless drain.

I hope so more than you my fellow Blade. I fear the worst. Let's hope you're right.

Of course, yes, every single person on the planet with a miserable disposition has decided to make their lives so much better, and thought "I know, I think I'll decide to support Sheffield United"

Fans of ANY MEDIUM SIZED CLUB has seen some good, wonderful or absolutely magnificent times in the last 40 years

Except one, of course

The two clubs you mentioned have had some amazing times, and you can add at least 30 other medium sized clubs to that who have either won a trophy, qualified for Europe, or spent more time in the top division than us over the last 50 years.

Uniteds level of failure has not been bad luck, its been shit, vile, awful planning by a bunch of cunts in the hot seat who don't believe you deserve any better.

Can't really argue about the reality of most of that,

You gave a couple of reasons why we didn’t sign anyone in January in your whiney list

Can we save all this flouncing until we get to the end of the season IF we do throw it away?
Well I'm super depressed after reading a couple of threads in the last 30 minutes - seems it could go 2 ways:
1) Blow our lead over Middlesbrough, become a national laughing stock, half the players leave, relegation to League One, and finally administration.
2) Get promoted ro PL, but lose every game, become a national laughing stock, relegation, sell all the best players, relegation to League One the season after, and finally administration.
