I sit in one of the gangways which I assume has led to these sanctions within the back 10 rows (not giving exact location in case the seat gestapo are on here)

Since the rules were brought in by SAG I've not seen one single issue of any overcrowding or gathering around the gangway entrance/exit at the top of the kop. There's also been no issue with regards to people being 3 to a seat and this was never an issue that I've seen in the first place. In fact there a a few dozen empty seats across the rows now which I assume are not held by season ticket holders.

To say there's been no improvement to warrant removing these sanctions is absolute horseshit and I don't believe for a minute that anyone from SAG/SCC has looked for any improvement. As people have said they can see there's no issue from the other side of the ground so fuck knows where there looking at it from.

The one thing I would question around the statement is the part about losing £30,000 a match. Would the attendances be any bigger if the kop was open for Coventry or Hull? I think we'd have got pretty much the same attendances it's just that more of the BLUT was occupied than normal. If anything we might have made more money than usual due to the extra cost of sitting up there compared to the kop.
Yep - I'm the same. Since they stopped selling tickets there hasn't been any overcrowding at the back of the Kop whatsoever. And it was a total non-issue to begin with.

The whole situation has been badly managed from the start. It is incredible that it has come to this at all. When Sheffield City Council, SAG and SUFC are all in the same room it is inevitably going to be a total fuck up.

Said it before, saying it again. Everyone who thinks it's SCC fault this is a democratic society and you can tell your councillors what you think and vote for someone else at the next election if they don't listen

If there's one thing that makles politicians listen it's the threat of losing their seat. So instead of posting tje same stuff on here do something useful and drop a quick email to your local councillors telling them what you think

Sheffield council will not be happy until they have fucked up everything Sheffield never mind United. Who are these cunts , Sheffield council are just a thing who are these individuals ,are they answerable , its them who should be investigated.
I recall going for a grant from Bassetlaw council about 15 years ago to employ more people from the community ,I was interviewed by about 30 people in a meeting. 2 asked me for a job after, one was a shelf stacker the other was a parking attendant ,how do these fuckers justify whet they do ?
As much as I can agree with you about alot of aspects of Sheff council this isn't entirely their doing. And if supporters did what has been asked it will go away.

We can't pin it all on them, it's a problem of our own doing.

Let’s.be right it’s a power trip for SCC. Just the same as their bright idea a couple of years ago to remove cash paying parking meters. If you can’t pay on your phone then basically they are saying fuck you.

Just like how for years they’ve employed traffic wardens to prowl behind a bush until 5 mins after kick off so they can go around issuing tickets to anyone with half a tyre on double yellow lines.

Like many have said, I don’t see anyone stood in aisles on the kop anymore so what are the remaining issues that they are so cryptic about?

By the way Rotherham fans were stood on the steps at the top of their stand behind the goal last Saturday but I suppose that’s okay because it’s not our club
so it annoys you that the council dont turn a blind eye to dumb cunts who parking illegally but you want them to turn a blind eye to dumb cunts who are too retarded to sit in the seat allocated for them which could cause harm to fellow fans?

what like

Dear councillor,

please can you ask the officers whose role it is to manage safety at events to not do it because im so fucking dumb i cant seem to sit in an allocated seat for 90 + minutes, and think its my god given right to ignore simple instructions also can you stop all other statutory duties that are in place to protect the public.

if you dont i'm not voting for you again even though i'd probably struggle to put a X in a box.

Can somebody please tell me what problems or safety risks have ever actually manifested as a result of this kop 'migration'?

It was more dangerous being in the away end at Rotherham ffs, just trying to walk along the rows with the seats in front mid shin height. Actual tripping hazard on a steep stand. Are they going to insist that stadium is torn down and rebuilt? Or is that not a trendy enough safety risk? Not 1989 Hillsborough-ish enough?
Got to admit I nearly tripped up more than once because of the seats on the row in front, thought they were very dangerous.

Too right it annoys me. 28000 people turning up at the lane, plenty in cars and instead of working with the club to make parking accessible they just see it as a money maker..

yeah if only there was some sort of parking system in place where you could park a car in an allocated space for specified period of time

Non issue to start with? I've been going on/off for 30 years and the issues stated have been around since the thing was erected. It all comes down to wankers thinking they can just do what they want. Squeezing into rows, pushing people along, and blocking exits. Every time I've had a ticket at the back of the kop in D, E, F, G this has been the case.

Fucking retards have brought it on themselves.

Yeah surely it’s hard to determine who’s seat is who’s once everyone is sat down unless like you say it’s very noticeable.
There is a number of fans who show no respect for the stewards
Maybe it's time to bring in a few uniformed policeman to sort it.
More expensive than stewards but if the figures are correct and losing money with this! Maybe it would be cheaper in the long run.
The sight of a policeman will in my opinion sort this out or route them out ! Putting a ban order on them, if real fans it should put it to bed.

Easiest solution would be a few coppers on the problematic gangways. I've said before but people are far less likely to piss about with coppers involved. Stewards? May as well be mannequins. People wouldn't even try it. There must be the odd empty seat up toward the back, stick a copper in one of them. Up until kick off, coppers just asks politely to check the ticket of the person in the seat. Randomly. Not too intrusive. The copper only need explain the ramifications of sitting in the wrong seat. If that person is caught in the wrong seat, copper then asks them to move voluntarily or shall be ejected from the stadium. One warning. That's it.

For me, that's the easiest way. What's it need? Half a dozen of em? Within a fortnight this would be solved. Even armed police if needs be. Fuck em. Go full weight.

I agree with all that, but I am sorry, I did piss myself laughing when I read the bit about armed police.

“How did your Jordan die?”
“Was shot after being sat in seat 180 row AB, rather than seat 179, row AA”.

Scare em even more
Or be antagonistic and cause more trouble.

I think telling people in those areas before games there will be ticket checks and getting the stewards to do it, with a few police on the periphery would do it.

The police don't do any actual policing at matches from what I can tell. They happily watched on as a couple of Wrexham fans threw punches at a steward at the front of the BL end the other night. They'd sooner stand back and video it to prosecute later. Active policing? Forget it.

It's getting those people to read the message, see the message, understand the message. As we've seen, the original statement was hit because of the standing element of it. The actual issue is seat migration.

Do we have any loudspeaker systems in place at all? One above the turnstiles repeating the message 'ticket checks are in place. Please use your own allocated seat'

Sometimes the simple solutions are the best.

They need to implement a safe standing section across the back half of the Kop. That would solve the problem.

It’s massively overkill from SAG for what isn’t a particularly big issue. But they appear to be the biggest jobsworths known to man.

But safe standing still requires a seat number. The problem isn't standing, it's people standing where they shouldn't be.

For the big games (Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool in the PL) you'd get faces you've never seen before just cramming onto the back row where I was as if they're regulars and shoving their way in. Wankers. And like I've said before, they're all the same demographic - younger lads. 15-20 year old in their CP coats and Gazelles of numerous colours. It's those that cause the problem. Just buy a ticket on the kop, go to the back.

What's stopping Gary Sinclair from announcing numerous times in the run up to kick off "supporters on the kop are reminded to sit in their allocated seat. Any breach could result in sanctions for the club and that individual being banned"

It's alright the club putting out one single post, but what's it achieved so far? The club haven't even bothered giving an update as to whether they've noticed an improvement or adherence to the rules or the message. So how do we know if that message has been taken on board? Why not pump the message out daily on the clubs socials? If they're losing money, they should be doing more than they are doing to sort it out. For me, it seems like they're happy to keep things as they are.

Can they just not point a bloody camera at them. Announce that if they're caught doing it twice they'll be removed and banned for the rest of the season?

Good shout. Apart from your last bit that’s daft ………
Maybe only “rubber” bullets
