Some of the bile and shyte spouted on here as regards Monty is down right embarrasing.
It would appear that the player who is widely recognised as not being able to pass wind is attracting attention from MULTIPLE championship clubs.
Xavi he ain't, and I am quite sure the lad would be the first to admit it.
Is it true that his young children are quite poorly at the moment ?
And folks still persist with nothing short of a hate campaign directed at the bloke.
Has been a good servant to this club imho and deserves better.

Calm down dear, it's only a football forum.
He's been taking the money and having a major laugh at us for the last couple of seasons when the club really couldn't afford it.
We need his money for something else and, quite frankly, if some of us didn't laugh at the situation we'd cry.

monty is what he is! it worked under warnock and blackwell but DW plays a passing game which doesnt best suit the lad- simple. some of the abuse on these forums towards him are imo unfair and unjust. yes we need him off the wage bill but lets wish the lad well wherever he goes because no-one can question his commitment to our football club, always gave 100% utb

It makes me laugh when people slag him saying don't play him don't play him. Then every year we go to Hillsborough, the same moronic idiots say. "This is the game for Monty to come in, he knows what it's all about!"
If he's that shit, why would you want to play him in the biggest game of the season?

I think his time has come for a change, but the way that he gets singled out when so many others have (over the years) been as bad or worse is a disgrace.
We've had the discussions in the past and I don't want to bring up the same arguments. Just to say that he's been a great servant for us, limited as a player and been expected to do jobs outside of his competency.
We have a more than capable replacement in Doyle

Unfortunately, whatever people think of Monty he is holding us back in regards to wages, how we play football and most importantly to me... holding back the kids

But your point is already refuted. The argument that he is an asset in derbies doesn’t stand because last season he played at the sty in place of MacDonald and we got nothing out of it because we couldn’t maintain possession in the usual way or create anything substantial. It was perfect example of why we don’t need him in those games.
We didn’t play the pigs the year before. We were busy getting relegated, partly as a consequence of renewing his contract when we should have released him and got a better player in.
Feel free to fill me in about the year before that one. As I recall we drew at the sty and won at the Lane. You will have a hard time convincing me why he was supposedly pivotal to either result.
Personally I wouldn’t advocate his selection in any game, let alone a derby.
Let’s face it, he is going nowhere. We have the same thing every close season. No other club is going to buy him, but it’s all been said before ad infinitum.
I really hope that at this time next year people aren’t arguing that we should extend his contract.

Blaming Monty for the situation the club is in is like blaming one raindrop when your house gets flooded.
Monty isn't to blame for us being in the division we are in, and nor is he to blame for the financial situation we are in. Monty is also far from being the "shite" footballer some would have us believe. He's a long way from being brilliant, but he's also a long way from being useless too. It's a shame that people can't see beyond their hatred, but there you go.
I like Monty, but I've always said we should get rid if him of we can get better players in, and that should hold true for every other player we have got too. Well, Doyle and KMac now are our best midfield pairing by a long way, and Monty doesn't fit with the sort of player Wilson likes, and the sort of player we need to progress beyond being merely a "blood and thunder" style of side.
So thanks for the service Monty, but now it's time for you and the club to move on.

I didn't say those things. They have been said on here time and time again. Big contradiction from the "knockers", they hate him but when they want a bit of passion, want him back in.
He's not the most gifted player but he's been a loyal servant. 350+ games speaks for itself. The managers get paid to pick players, we have to pay to watch them. I think I know who knows best
