Do you think Monty will be on as high a wage as Dave Kitson? now officially a free agent i thought he'd be perfect to finish off our side for next season, he'd be a good replacement for Ched and very good at this level. With rumours that monty is still on big money for this level, but DW says no one needs to leave i just wondered if monty was to leave could his wages be used on a better quality player.

If Dave Kitson is the answer, then the question is probably "Which striker scored 12 goals in 72 games for Portsmouth, thereby costing the club an estimated £100k per goal?"

Kitson is no longer good enough. We've already got Cresswell and Porter in the big lad up front role.

Personally I'm OK with our options up front. We have 4 strikers who could start and all offer something a little different, although we're not going to see the goal returns of Ched I do think we'll be pretty handy.

My HUGE concern is pace down the flanks. With the emergence of young McFazden down the left I think we're struggling down the right. We're desperately short of a winger on the right who has pace and can actually beat a man... For me Flynn simply isn't good enough to be considered a first team option.

i think that we are still looking for a striker hence the absence of the number 10 on the squad numbers list. But if we are to get a new striker i would rather it wasnt dave kitson. If we can sell monty i would like to see either beavon or blackman come in. on the right wing i think flynn should get a chance to prove himself

Having two speed merchants, one on either wing, makes you very vunerable in today's game.
I would like two good pacey wingers - but maybe paly one at a time with the other side buttoned up. This gives the option to throw the pair at a game if we need a winner or an equaliser.

Agree we need another striker (proven at this level) as well as this pacey, wide midfielder (of the Matty Phillips mould - if there is one around) and decent cover at CB - then we will be just about there for another season in the league of bobbar.
Play offs and pushing for automatic if that happens.
Still see MKD as champions.

I think there is far too much emphasis put on this 'raw' pace ingredient. Most players at pro level have adequate pace to be playing at the level they are at. The way teams set up these days, pace doesn't undo defences too often during a game.
Poor old Ryan Flynn is accused of lacking pace and therefore unable to go past or leave his marker but the Flynn that I see, often delivers a telling ball into the danger zone without leaving his man trailing or going past him like an express train. He also rarely gives possession away and defends exceptionally well. Compare that with say, David Cotterill, who could run and dribble, but rarely delivered and couldn't defend , hence his short spells at several clubs where he warmed the bench more regularly than started.
Any speed merchant is usually catered for in pre match planning and I don't often see these fast lads damage us too much.
