That's the 5th game on the trot where we've looked poor bar a 15 minute period and some individual brilliance.

If Ndiaye is out for a period then don't be surprised if the wheels start falling off... They're wobbling at the moment.

Don't forget this is stoke fighting off relegation who we let run the midfield.
You must have a good pair gloves, my hands would still have been too cold to type that 10 minutes after the final whistle.

I don't get the mentality in hammering someone for offering their opinion on the performance of the team... isn't this forum supposed to encourage open debate and discussion?
Seems like most of you would rather be in an echo chamber,
"Great result today lads."
"Yeah, was good wasn't it lads."
"Yeah lads."

We can all be pleased by the result, but in equal measure say "might've gone differently on another day because that performance wasn't great."

It's fantastic that we've won another uncomfortable game that we failed to impress in and - of course - the more you can keep doing that the better your chance of success.

But equally, there's 19 games to go, there's an in form chasing pack, we aren't performing well and that's now Baldock, Clark, Norrington-Davies, Stevens, Fleck, McBurnie, Brewster and Ndiaye that are all out injured.
With some players still making their way back from injury and not looking 100%.

We're winning games by close margins, often being decided by moments of brilliance from Ndiaye... it could easily turn if we don't improve performances and sort out whatever is happening in the background with these injuries.
Even Heckingbottom seems pissed off now at things that are happening behind the scenes, particularly the training pitches not being ready for use.

Like a bunch of schoolgirls by the way, jumping on the bandwagon calling folk "bedwetters."
Have a word with yourselves, it's embarrassing.

I'd rather just enjoy it instead of panicking about things I have absolutely no control or influence over.

If winning 8 out of every 10 games just causes you to worry that we might not win 8 out of the next 10, call it a day and spare yourself the fictional grief.

That's my whole point
It was during a time when we played in a quick, energetic manner
We haven't seen that for several weeks, and if this slow, boring version of us turns up against West Brom, Middlesboro, Norwich and Watford we'll get beat by each of them

We might up our game against those teams, but it's not easy to just switch it back on again when the languid, boring style is what you've been perfecting for months has to be changed
No team plays 100% at your throats football not even Man City ,
Have we played like world beaters last few weeks absolutely not , my point being I’ve seen us play well and get beaten and seen us play poor QPR away few weeks back and rob a point
Once we do enough to win and get promoted that’s the be all and end all ,
Apart from Fulham last season ( who we did the double over )
Bournemouth who we should have taken more points off
No other team last season stood out with
Our best 2 performances last season where probably Boro at home and second leg at Forest
It’s not a question of , in my view of being outstanding every game , we do enough to win , just like most teams getting promoted
Grind out the results get the points , move on to next game

if your not happy don't come ...but don't spout this bollocks every single week
we totally dominated at millwall last week and at no time looked in danger today

Burnley scraped a 1-0 with an 84th minute goal today. I bet not one of their fans will offer whingeing detrimental garbage we get in here

Well said, I think if the OP had posted this there wouldn’t be so much bite back.

We played v well for the first 15 minutes, created, scored and had the bulk of possession. But we then switched off thinking it was too easy and never really got back at the races, v similar to Rotherham.
Seemingly, sometimes the easier the opposition the more we switch off, it’s a mental approach thing, but like everyone happy with three points, but was v thankful when the third went in.

11 points clear you big tart ;)

We’ll be fine, you win ugly in the Championship sometimes.

Hopefully a loss around the corner and some validation for you

It's all very bladey bladeness this thread ,and yes I am probably one of the worst after 60+ years of following the blades I am waiting for the wheels to fall off but we keep winning ! my attitude is we now need 16 wins from 19
But all we need is a bit of luck for once

Are we bossing games like we did under peak Wilder? No. Maybe not. More a team with great stand outs than a well oiled machine but that side hardly had any injuries so it's not surprising.

Are we far better placed in a promotion race than either of those two championship years? Yes
Let’s be honest, one of Wilder’s greatest results was beating Leeds away 1-0 and we must have let them have about 30 shots!

It merely about the accumulation of points.

Sometimes we’ll be a class above and play well and win. Other times we’ll have an off day, some players might not be on form for whatever reason. We’ll be grateful if on those days we’re still picking up 3 points.

The Championship is a massive slog. Let’s not all forget that. Stoke struggled for continuity too. They scored a goal that was poor from a Berge and from Foderingham but also could have been offside. Blackpool scored to make it look nervy after getting a corner from a throw that should have been our way and the officials missing a foul. Wigan scored a goal that was clearly offside. We’ve taken a fair chunk of unjustified adversity well within our stride to be fair to us.

We've 'ground out' a few results recently, but that's the sign of a promotion winning team isn't it?

No point arguing about this until we've had Pompous Pompey's take on the game; he'll tell us exactly what everyone else (including Hecky) has obviously overlooked......

Some of what you say is correct in that we aren't putting good performances together.

However, you are downplaying some other positive things.

You mention moments of individual brilliance, but one reason we pull these off more than the opposition is that we have better players. Ndayie has been great but today it was Bogle and a fantastic team goal. It's also been manatee, and Berge and Mcburnie earlier in the season.

We also don't give away many good chances, so even when we don't play that well, we don't look like conceding many.

Hopefully, instead of the problems you predict, we find a bit of form during the tough run that starts in mid February and secure promotion
