In hindsight Doyle was a poor choice I get why he played him but with McAtee‘s form I’d have gone for him from the start, I think that we were expecting a more physical game or Doyle was there to break up their midfield play but it didn’t work the addition of McAtee worked brilliantly and I’d play him more as with him we can actually attack from start to finish and let the other team do the worrying.
 

When teams press intensly and get tackles in quickly berge is basically not worth playing. He doesn't seem to want to know when it's full throttle, which can happen more often than not in the championship.

Give him time and space to get his head up and he's great but teams have worked out now if you get in his face his effectiveness drops off a cliff.
 
I love Berge, I'll defend him to the hilt on here, but today wasn't his day.

Not a good performance but who performed to their best tonight?
 
Once again we still have people defending this fella. Yes he’s fucking amazing when he either wants to be or circumstances dictate he can be. Tonight I wanted someone to help Norwood and Doyle as I’m sure they did ! That’s not him is it ? That header in the second half sums him up. We all want him to be amazing. He just isn’t and we have enough facts on that. This is season 3 !!
 
The whole midfield was poor ,they went right after our midfield and took them out of the game. Berge came into it more in the 2nd half he often ran down that side with two defenders shadowing him.
 
Just because I find Berge very over rated by most of our fanbase doesn't mean I think he's crap. It's been 4/5 games now since the WC ended and I've see nothing of a "top player" gaining match fitness to be able to control games.

When Norwood (2m), Doyle (loan) and Osborn (4m) have a poor game they get slated to fuck but Berge (23m) always has excuses is to why is isn't performing. Why?
It's been 3 years now and I'm waiting on consistence performances. Is it because he's played in the CL? An international? 6ft 4? Has a couple of bursting runs a game?

I don't care if no one agrees, I just see what I see and that's a player that isn't what he's made out to be.

Obviously I hope he scores 10 goals and assists 10 for the rest of the season...

If he was 6ft and called John Smith, people wouldn’t even notice him. There are so many excuses made for him and no other player gets the luxury.

If I was one of our squad and heard someone say “he needs to play with better players” I’d be fuming.

Look at the difference between Ndiaye’s output and Berge’s. There’s no comparison.

Said exactly the same, I've defended him nearly ever time, but come on £23mill ! If a reasonable offer comes in get rid.

Watching a different game then to me clearly. Everyone around us all said same, slow and poor in possession. God help us if he's our midfield in the PL.

Lowe had his 2nd decent game on the trot & Egan was immense.
 

He was very decent, 2nd half. I wonder if he was instructed by Hecky first half to stroll around, be soft in the tackle, and generally hide from any responsibility.

Maybe he had a sniff of glue at HT as he was unrecognisable 2nd half.

Not surprised to hear you say that as the Bramall Lane crowd love to get on top of Berge whenever he does anything they don't approve of.
A lot of it is unwarranted and disproportionate.
 
Doyle was our worst midfielder by mile today, yet threads slating Berge and Fleck inevitably appear.

The team played rubbish. Nobody looks good when the team plays rubbish.

Some fans seem to know exactly how bad or how good certain players are going to play before a ball has been kicked.
