Theres a few rumours floating round twitter that were intrested in taking west hams striker sam baldock on loan for the season. Anyone else heard anything ?

Mentioned on BM

Wendy have been interested in him for a while, so I guess with the fact we are a div 3 club, who will have to pay div 3 wages, I think someone may have got the clubs mixed up

Can anyone see Baldock moving down to div 3? I know I can't.

If WH let him come to us, I guess they'd probably want a £25m loan fee arrangement anyway! ;)

Non-starter for me

Youre most probabley right, i dont use BM so wasnt aware it was on there

Hes never played any higher than div 3 has he ?

I was going to say it sounds like he didnt hit it off in the championship with west ham so he may well be willing to drop a division,West ham permitting obviously

The same Div 3 he was playing in at the start of last season?

He's not gonna get in a game in the prem!!

Ok I maybe wrong so who knows?

Not sure but his appearances/scoring record stats were blighted by injury weren't they?

But for me, he's now a prem club player who played in the championship last season

I can't see him dropping down to div 3 because I think other championship clubs will be after his services if WH do want him to go out on loan

Then of course there may be the little problem of paying his championship come pay rise to premiership salary
Not insurmountable, but unlikely in my view

Just a suggestion here but don't know if its been mentioned before? scores goals in the championship and doesn't seem to be getting a look in for Brighton at the moment? maybe his younger brother George could have a word and tell him how great this football club is?

Signed a new contract I think.

Brighton will want him this season, not a prayer.

Tbf not been in the squad for the first two Prem matches, unless he's injured that would suggest he's not in their plans this season, maybe they extended his contract cause theyll want him if they go down.

Recently returned after a lengthy calf injury, plenty of experience and still a decent age. Could he be worth a look at or will Brighton still consider him part of the first team?

Glenn Murray is still very much part of it. Murray is 34, Baldock 28. Depending on injury extent I would imagine he's in their plans. 12 goals last year.
If they want him to spend 2nd half of season on loan then top half of champ is where he'll go

He's signed a new contract over the summer I think.

A loan is possible though and he would improve our frontline, his brother is here, he has the work ethic Wilder desires and that bit of pace that is the one thing we don't have up top. Would be a great option but possibly out of our reach.

Perhaps he could bring Jamie Murphy with him? one option we haven't got in the squad is a dedicated wide man, he's not really getting a look in down there. Quality pair of loans in January. UTB

Murphy got a game and a goal in a Checkatrade Trophy loss to Stevenage tonight but that can't be enough for him.

Wonder if this might be a possibility, now he's back fit again? Not getting a look in at Brighton as things stand, so it seems.

He has the attributes to be a player of Tuftyball ....... but is he match fit yet ?

We need somebody who can contribute immediately really .......

UTB & FTP

I think this ticks many boxes. also a chance if Caruthers does leave then George will need a new flat mate...

Brighton have just signed another striker, florin andone, from Deportivo, can only assume it may push sam further down the pecking order?
