Player Suggestion Sam Baldock

Brighton have just signed another striker, florin andone, from Deportivo, can only assume it may push sam further down the pecking order?

He barely played last year I don’t think he’s even on the pecking order list.

Another Sam? We could have a team full of Sam’s

We could give them their own theme tune as they run out onto the pitch (1930's short back and sides, optional)

Why on Earth aren’t we chasing him? We’re desperate for a striker exactly of that ilk. And his brother is already here to boot.

Fucking Reading.

Maybe Wilder didn't want him? Maybe SB wanted to stay down south, where every club he's ever played for are based? Many more possible reasons too.

Very well may have been for all we know. I was just passing the message on!

Hell of a lot closer to where he's been plying his trade than what we are, and they probably pay better...

I can't see why Wilder wouldn't want him judging on our pool of strikers, his obvious ability and the type of lad he is (hard working, team player)
The south thing is something I can grasp but with his brother here I think we would be one of few northern clubs he'd come to, but that's just guesswork.

But... Reading
Partnering Marc McNulty next season, bet that's gonna be thrilling for the lad

To be fair that's all guesswork mate!

Just leave Wilder to do his thing. Dont get wound up by players going elsewhere that we were never linked with. Whats the point, there's no basis for frustration.

I'd say its understandable considering he is a player who would really do a job for us and he's going elsewhere whilst we are (still) stuck with a supporting cast of Ched and Lavery. But it is what it is. We'll see what happens.

I see he’s not yet gone to Reading as was suggested.

A bit of everything we need. Pace, never say die running and a decent scoring record in this division. Proven track record.

If we miss out on Waghorn he should be next on the list for me. His wages shouldn’t be a sticking point, he’s only at Brighton.

The pool of proven championship strikers which are affordable and attainable for us is getting smaller by the day

It’s probably actually getting bigger as they continue to bring in foreign shite to displace what they’ve already got, hence more players becoming available.
I’d definitely take Sam Baldock though, perhaps his brother being here may be a big draw if we were interested.

Surely we must be aware of his availability? I think he’d be an excellent signing, when we finally give up on Waghorn.
If he has the same work ethic and pace as his brother, who has been one of Widers best acquisitions to date, I would see it as a shrewd move tbh :)

Only drawback he does seem to like it down south, looking at all his previous clubs.

Would brotherly love come into it,have they played together before.?

This may not be entirely accurate, but I read that Brighton wont sanction his move to Reading at this moment because he counts as a 'homegrown' player and they only have the minimum amount of viable players to cover that rule at the moment.

ROYALS MOVE FOR BALDOCK

Striker Sam Baldock is reportedly on the verge of moving from Brighton to Reading.

Football London say the 29-year-old is having a medical with the Royals today.

A little gutted that we haven't made a move for him. Very good at this level.

Going to Reading apparently. No idea if Wilder was remotely interested but a player I would have liked to see joining us.
