Fair play to him, he even admitted he might have wanted to just get off the pitch. Kept it simple second half, put it behind him and was solid second half.

However, has to be said that unless he gets a good run and keeps his confidence up I would prefer someone to play in his spot…Clark may well be fully fit after the World Cup and the go to option.
Hoping we treat the break like a pre season.
I would be tempted to bring Clark in and move JLT to lwb. Stevens looks a liability at the minute.

He was not really at fault for the own goal, but the second was an outright shocker. He had Norwood available inside for a simple pass anyone could have made. He did well in the second half and his throw-ins were a big factor but I'm not sure it makes up for gifting the opposition a goal out of nothing.

As ever the only thing that let's him down is making bad individual mistakes. I can forgive the header but losing the ball to Benson was daft, the crowd could see it coming a mile away and were all screaming man on, he had enough time to put his boot through it.

When he cuts out the daft mistakes like he did the second half of last season he is a big asset to the team

, he had enough time to put his boot through it.
It was almost an exact replica of the Davies blunder in the previous home match.

If Robbo played the ball with his right foot then agree he has plenty of time.
However footballers struggle to be 2 footed these days. Don't they ever use their weaker foot in training?
So he let the ball come across his body onto his left foot giving the Burnley player extra time to close him down, then he panicked, lost control and partially slipped.

Against Norwich Davies could have easily cleared the ball with his left foot, maybe Egan is used to playing with Fodders who is left footed.
However Davies allowed the ball to come across his body onto his right foot allowing Pukki slightly more time to close him down.

I actually said at half-time that maybe the Robbo blunder might be a blessing in disguise.

If we'd had gone in 1-1 at half-time we'd have been fairly happy, however I think Burnley would have been re-focussed to raise their game in the 2nd half going for the the win but with the score being 2-1 to Burnley, their players must have thought they'd already done it, they didn't even play that well but were sitting 2-1 up.
Where as Hecky and the players will have been furious with the unjust scoreline. I expected us to be fired up trying to make amends and once we're kicking against the Kop and get on a roll we can be a formidable force, like in the match against Norwich.

Also Burnley aren't use to being put under big pressure, everything has been almost too easy for them this season, so thought they could capitulate.

Of course it makes up for it. A goal & an assist & we won 5-2. Huge credit to him for not letting his head drop.

I agree with you, regarding pre season, but it seems that dumb international friendlies might get in the way of that?
Maybe they could arrange a friendly game of Football manager in our treatment room? ;)

Stevens was unlucky he was against a fast winger and was booked early which hampered his normal game.
Several times he had to let jack take him so as not to get sent off.
So I'm not judging him on that game keep him in I say

The hosts were controlling possession and passing the ball around lovely when Jack Robinson produced a sloppy pass straight to the opposing forward who set off on the counter. Although Robinson got back to block the initial ball into the box, Stoke's opener came seconds later when Powell's delivery found its way into the corner after Robinson was out-muscled by Brown as the pair went to meet the cross.

Egan was furious with Robinson and immediately screamed at him, either for not being strong enough to head Powell's delivery clear or for being sloppy in possession moments earlier. Anel Ahmedhodzic also had something to say in his direction as he was not best pleased either.

BOOM
Fuckin loves it don’t he😂

He try’s to get one of them in a match, which is great as it gets the fans going and rattled their players

2nd only to Ndaiye as most improved player over the last 18 months

Keep it up Jack la’ 👍
A snip at 500k. I think he could do a job in the Prem second time around.

LOVES A CHALL.

The thing is with Robbo, he doesn't half come across as a proper edgy, outspoken, mard arsed, sarcy, chip on shoulder scouser and it totally makes him the player that he is.

A proper shithouse, as well as a dedicated and committed athlete. He's very clever and good at what he does, even down to the little wind ups...against Wrexham, nudging a player in the back to say come on, hurry up and get across to take your throw in. Not worth a booking or even a talking to, but whilst still getting in the opposition's head.

I’m a Robbo fan the more he plays the better he gets but when he doesn’t play and then comes back in he has to start again from scratch imo he’s good for the premier because he fits what we need.

Not just an act. Have you heard Roy Keane talking about JLT offering him out? Then turning up for to fight as agreed. Keane said he knocked him down three times, last time breaking his cheekbone, but he still got up wanting to go again
