But, but, but…. what about his throw in going straight over the goal in the first half? 😉
Really enjoying watching JLT at the moment. Since getting back into the side he’s added grit & niggle & strength to the team. Those big tackles (oooer Missus) he puts in are a joy to watch & he makes me chuckle with his shithousing.
Keep it up Jacky lad!

This guy is in good form, but the notion that this guy will be good enough to make the step up to the PL is for the birds IMO.

I really like his commitment and he’s playing very well at the moment but him signing a new contract if we get promoted would feel like a big mistake. Need to upgrade ij that position and have the experienced Clark for back up if we are up next season.

In a bit of a Martin Cranie role he could be a good steady signing for a champ club though

Agreed. But sadly, this applies to 70% of the squad. Cheque book ahhhhht Dozy.

From C-3PO to Optimus Mother Fucking Prime.
Thinking similar.

He’s gone from a dithering C3PO to T-1000 Terminator.

The defence exudes confidence when in that mood.

This is why I’m confident against Boro. Our defenders are all a threat at the other end of the pitch. They are all aggressive and a danger aerially at both ends.

Going off topic a bit but they contribute to the impressive feat that goals can really come from anywhere. Robbo scored, Egan was close, Anel is one of the top scorers, Bogle has a couple, Max has scored. All the midfield have scored goals this season and we have two of the top goal scorers despite one not being fit and the other often paying a more withdrawn role (though as a result he has high assists).

Lot to feel good about this team right now. Hope we can have a good few games and put a few out of the running and pressure Burnley, that’s what these lads deserve.

I’d probably take him on for an extra year. As someone else has said, theres a lot of the squad out of contract and purely from needing bodies in I think I’d take him as a back up. He did okay in the Prem last time, he always been quite error prone tbf but as a back up he might be okay in the short term.

Tbh though, he might want to go and get games somewhere else. Chances are, he might get an offer on less money but a chance to play week in week out which he wouldnt get here.

Just watched it back. You couldn't see from our angle exactly how much of the player he managed to get along with the ball.

Plenty. The answer was plenty.

Gives us a much needed bite in a side a bit lacking in that kind of player.
The player who thought he'd try to wrestle him in the second half, goal mouth, got off very lightly. JLT was ready to put him in row X.

He’s an important, left sided option. We need 6 central defenders. No point recruiting for the sake of it.

We own Anel, Egan, Bash and Robbo. Keep them. Then it’s just a question of the caliber of the other two we can get.

You can’t leave yourself with no players. We need to keep a good core. Also I don’t want to be like Forest, “thanks for ending 20 years of pain, now fuck off!” I just don’t see that being us.

Last time the complaint was we had a Premier League XI but then League One back ups. You have two cups and a league to play. It may well be that some out of contract players you’d expect to leave might be retained. As an example, I’d rather see Robinson, Fleck, Sharp as squad numbers 23, 24 and 25, them playing in the cups and being on the bench and even in the team if we really need them than Johnny Nobody who has only joined us for the money and has no affection for the club. Look how it’s gone this year for Lingard and what he contributed at Forest - you’d rather be calling on a Robinson who gives his all for the club or adding another mercenary in there? 14 league games, no goals or assists and on a fortune.

We need to make our signings count. No reason why likes of Robbo can’t be important squad members even if they don’t end up as first picks. Plus his throw is also a handy weapon to unsettle teams.

Robbo is very underated among our fan base imo. He is a solid player, and I think some judged him when he was playing not fully fit, and a bit lacking in confidence as he made a few errors.

He's turned it around and long may it continue. I think he can step up. First choice maybe not, but who knows, if he keeps going the way he is, keeps the mistakes out of his game he certainly deserves a crack at it .

The thing with Jacques le Tank is that he needs to be playing regularly to play well. When he comes in to cover is when he lacks confidence and makes mistakes. I'd argue that he'd be a good player to keep as cover but that counts against him. He's also 30 this year. It's a difficult one.

For now it's simple. If he keeps his form he stays in the team. Valuable left foot player. Better than a square peg in a round hole.

He's a joy to watch at the moment and I'm more confident that he'd make a good transition to the PL than before. That being said, in the land of VAR, I can see him picking up a fair few reds but he's probably not alone in that.

I was screaming for him during that first Wrexham game. They were rough(shit)housing us and flying into tackles. He was precisely what we needed to give some back.

I'd keep Robbo in the PL if we get there. Maybe not as first choice but back up. He's 30 and can surely play as currently for another 2 years at least.
Clark has to be a possible signing but he is 34(?) Or thereabouts, and seems to be really injury prone. My son in law who is big Newcastle fan reckons he is not really a PL player (though he has played lots of games) so would steer clear of him.

Just listened to the 2nd tier podcast, they called the episode Jack "Wallop" Rbinson. They said he scores like he tackles, made me chuckle.

What on earth was he doing near the end? He bombed forward a couple of times in injury time. I thought he'd had some kind of breakdown!

A few of our players are different beasts when full of confidence, Robbo and Berge are the most obvious.

Robbo has looked solid for the majority of the season and I've grown to really like him. It wasn't that long ago I was genuinely pissed off and concerned when he was in the starting 11 but he's arguably one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment.
