email from club - NO MORE TICKETS ON SALE IN KOP - standing & wrong seat usage

I agree for the mot part. The only issue I can see with this is the (relatively, I think) recent habit of launching a pint in the air when a goal is scored - see any number of videos from the Euros etc.

While I'd like to be able to enjoy a pint while watching the Blades, I really don't want to go home from every match absolutely soaked in warm lager 😂
Went to see Hertha at the Olympic stadium in Berlin. Go in past the ticket point and you can buy food and drink which you carry in to your seat. 2 pint plastic glasses. You pay 2e for the 'glass' and get it back after. Seated but a bit more room than BDTBL. Not really much spillage. I suspect the section with the ultras doesn't sell booze though!

I doubt we'd ever have a situation where you could drink on the Kop or in the away end.

And that is the problem that could have been fixed months ago by the stewards (backed up by a couple of SYP and good communication) moving amongst the crowd during play and checking tickets, not having legalised thugs blocking the entrances and attempting to intimidate fans.

How difficult is this to understand;

Steward approaches a fan standing in the isle and asks him to return to his seat.

Fan says he can’t because someone is standing in it.

Steward goes to the seat and kicks the fucker out.

Fan returns to his seat.

Rinse and repeat for 4 matches and the problem goes away.
The crux of the issue highlighted there, good communication.

They tried this at the start of the season but essentially used arse braying knuckle draggers to check tickets. Had there been someone with any iota of common sense it would have been communicated to fans that due to an increasing number of supporters purchasing tickets in the kop and subsequently then sitting/standing in the wrong seat, extra checks have been put in place so please be courteous to stewards while these checks happen.

Should people be gathering on gangways then stewards need to be speaking to them and asking them where their seat is, it will quickly come to light who is in the wrong seat and then move them on.

I hope so.

When you go to the cinema - to watch a film. All you can hear is the person next to you with his bucket of popcorn and gallon of Coke.

As others have said, at a football match some would launch their beer in celebration of scoring a goal in the same way way that some launch flares.
With complete disregard for anyone with chest issues.

The issue with all these problems is selfishness and lack of respect for others.

I've paid for a ticket - I'll do as I want.

Aye

Aye
Or
Steward approaches fan standing….asks him to return to his seat
Fan says “go fuck yourself you fascist cunt I do what I want because I’m creating an atmosphere
Surrounding fans join in giving steward pelters
Steward retreats & resigns stating I’m not paid enough to take that shit from self obsessed selfish ignorant buffoons
Rinse & repeat for 4 matches & the problem goes away - no stewards - unable to meet safety certificate requirements- kop (Bramall Lane ?) fully closed
Standing fans apoplectic at their human rights being abused

Genuinely fear that this is the way it will go - the structural limitations of the "concourse" at the back of the kop , coupled with the late arrival of most fans , means that if stewards are asked to check tickets on entry to particular gangways , the pressure from behind will lead to physical confrontation.
If someone is refused entry , how can they make their way through a crowd pushing to get in ?
On the other hand , you can imagine the pandemonium of trying to shift fans from gangways once the match begins.
There isn't really room for stewards from below to move amongst a large number of standers.
Unfortunately the cat is now out of the bag + the club is going to struggle to convince the authorities of safety.
Ironically, the solution of a safe standing area is pushed further away by those who most desire it.

And of course no one from SCC/SAG will be taking any notice of comments on here.

I think we should all buy a ticket for the pigpen and then complain nonstop about those that stand up and those stand next to their mates for a chat in the aisles.
And let's see what gets done about it

I think I might pack in football and go to the theatre instead. None of the unwashed go there as they're too thick to understand it.

There's a 10 year waiting list for tickets

Huge game on Saturday now. Win 2-0 and we go above Burnley and could even go top.

Unfortunately there will be many empty seats on the Kop. I'm sure virtually every season ticket will be used but that will still leave us two or three thousand short (not sure how many st holders on the Kop) I won't be there, but if I was I'd probably just stand in my usual place. Blades fans have been standing on that Kop for over a century. There's not been a single game where everyone has sat down. I doubt Saturday will be any exception.

EDIT just saw Burnley are playing tonight, if they win we can't catch them at the weekend

Tickets for this game were on sale for a long time before they were halted. Wouldn’t suprise me if we are only a relative handful short.

Not read the whole thread so not sure if this has been mentioned

but why are the central seats in the South stand and John Street stand also locked and not for sale.

If Blade fans who go in the Bramall Upper. make some noise.
create a great atmosphere. the players will like that I am sure.

That, or they're sold out already

Don’t think it can be that as any areas sold out are changed to pink.

These are the red areas in the middle of the South stand and John street stand where that area is locked. It’s never been like that for any other home game this season.
