So happy Ollie Mac is scoring goals. Just got to hope he doesn’t do anything stupid to get him matched banned. Him and Ndiaye are the only ones scoring at the moment. McBurnie’s confidence will be through the roof, thrilled and let’s hope he keeps it up.

Anything stupid like the court case he has you mean?!!
I’m pleased for him but he needs to keep it going.

He tried to get an easy penalty and just looked stupid basically.
But he's playing really well and only one capable of scoring a goal currently.

Another top thread to accompany his top performance.

Was really good again, I must admit. Perhaps quieter the second half, but he’d arguably done his job by then.

It would be typical United for him to go on a goal scoring run now and then get sent down in December.

2 in 2 - fantastic for him and for us. Another instinctive finish tonight as Lowe put in an accurate cross at pace which just needed McBurnie to get his head on it.

He probably isn’t the best finisher and lacks composure when given time. However, Ollie does take up some good positions and has decent anticipation of where the ball might drop. If we continue to provide him with improved service, there’s every chance he’ll get double figures this season.

Worked hard and defended well too.

We need to keep hitting our crosses in first time instead of fanning about on the wing in open play.
Lowe did this , head height , near post , which favours the striker + McB was therefore able to time his run + meet it brilliantly.
You can't expect McB to score from slow looping crosses which come in after we've fannied around + let the defenders get set.

Anel and his brace tonight would like a word ;)

Mcburnie its taken him 3 years to find the player we had signed him. but he is doing all the right things, whether he has been learning or being coached by billy sharp. because he is doing what sharp has made a career out of, being in the right place at the right time. regardless of what level you play at, thats all you want from your strikers. because even if your in a drought as long as you keep getting in those positions. the goals will come

This is complete bollocks, I've read on here for the last two or so years that McBurnie is SHIT, come on all you fuckin experts who have slagged him off, where are yah?
McBurnie this season, is like a totally different player. He has clearly worked on bulking himself up, he looks stronger and fitter than at any time since he has been at the club. On top of that he has upped his work rate considerably, closing down the opposition, even sprinting and is looking like a player, it has been great to see and the 2 goals in consecutive games are just reward for his efforts.

But I’m afraid, as far as I’m concerned this sudden upturn in effort and professionalism, does not absolve him of any responsibility for the complete lack of professionalism and minimal effort that he has exhibited during the previous two years. During that time, he was unfit and was purely going through the motions on a Saturday. Out on the piss, fighting with chavs and drink driving, mind not on the game, heart not in it, which was glaringly reflected in his performances and goal tally.

Over the last two seasons, I‘ll willingly identify as a huge McBurnie critic, but I’ve never said he was shit, because frankly, I don’t think he’s been that good.

Let’s hope he maintains, these new found levels of fitness, energy and enthusiasm, if he does, I think he’ll regain the form that he showed at Swansea and I think, tbh he owes the club that much. 🤔

I think he as close as you're going to get, admitted what you're saying without incriminating himself further with the club or fanbase, but him getting his head down, getting fit and firing is better than any apology.

I'm as excited again about him now as I was when we first signed him.

It must have at last dawned on McBurnie that he is in the last year of his contract with us and it’s pulling finger out of arse time. He will never get the wages from another club that we have been paying him for such little end product. This season is so or die for him career wise. He is at last looking like the nuisance striker putting in a shift which made Wilder want to sign him from Swansea.

But maybe I like his finger in my arse?!

Agree, first part but we've got goals coming from all over, more than for a long time.

Just his 7th of the season. The doubters are turning slowly but surely.

Surely the board will be writing a contract up asap for Mcburnie! He will go on to score plenty of goals for another club if they don’t

I predicted this at the start of the season.
Like Ched Evans and other players…..when a player is in the final year of their contract they are playing for their futures
So what a coincidence that suddenly those players have a big upturn in form.

Conversely you see it so often that as soon as a player signs a big lucrative contract they have a sudden dip in form.

Looked done in at the end, holding his groin. Not sure he should play 90 every game.

It’s also a confidence game. He hasn’t been flying high on confidence in the last 2 seasons. He’s now showing his potential. He would be massive in the championship next season & be a decent squad player in the premier league hopefully next

I don't want this to be taken as a negative on McBurnie, nor used by someone to suggest it's all he's good at because that's not what I mean at all, but I'm not sure I can recall a striker whose been so good at defensive set pieces.

On this rare occasion I'm not knocking McBurnie, but he looked knackered after about 20 minutes!
I can't understand how he wasn't subbed second half, especially if he's carrying an injury!
Took his goal well and did his defence duty well.
