McAtee pants down

2nd time he's been hauled off at half time, even on his good days he is nowhere near good enough on the ball to warrant how positionally and physically weak he is.

Even amidst all the injuries, it doesn't reflect well on heckingbottom that he's given so much playing time to someone so far off it.

Be disappointed if I see him even on the bench again tbh

He is two years away from being ready for this division.

I'd rather give the minutes to Arblaster. Despite being younger he looks for more robust.

He should be nowhere near the starting XI.

It's like playing with ten men when he starts.

He shouldn't be anywhere near the team sheet, alongside Fleck, Brewster and Khadra.

FFS,he's a young lad learning his trade,it's not his fault he's not the finished article.

Of course not his fault he's not the finished article, but does that mean he's right for our team at the moment...no.

He was incredibly wasteful in that first half with majority of his passes ending up with Norwich regaining possession.

Absolutely amazing that he started today

But we're obviously not heavily incentivised to play him or anything are we

Can't start two kids in him and Brewster who don't know how to play their positions

You've got to give the lad a chance, or two , but at the minute he looks like someone playing a footballer in a film. He's got the looks, the poses, the moves, but he can't actually play real football very well.

I hope for his sake (and ours) he knuckles down and learns the real parts of his trade, otherwise it's a dismal future in non-League, propping up the bar after the match telling groupies and hangers-on stories about how he used to play for Man City.

It's hard work son. Are you up for it?

I did mate. I watched McAtee waste every ball he had. I watched Sharp run the channels and help get us upfield. Sharp was hardly spectacular, but he did a job. McAtee was the one player with space and just wasted it.

Take your bladey blade goggles off sharp is finished he was awful today he did nothing

I love sharp but putting him ahead of Brewster shows the managers abilities 🤷‍♂️

Agree with other comments that i would rather see arblaster play. Mcatee is quite wasteful and really lightweight. He definitely has ability but for every decent thing he does it’s usually followed by 2 or 3 sloppy things. Lost possession quite a bit today.

Doyle is far more robust and composed out of the 2 city lads.

Khadra and mcatee have not got close to filling MGWs boots. Huge task i know but thats why they were bought in.

Exactly. He has all the skills, but simply not physically strong enough yet. He needs to bulk up and when he does, he'll be some player for sure.

I would buy both Doyle and Mcatee if we were ever in that position.

Fleck did about as much as McAtee, both gave the ball away straight to a Norwich player in acres of space when we were attacking.
Both disappeared for a lot of the 1st half.
Neither should be on pitch but thats just my opinion.

His manager sent him here to improve him as a player, who the hell in this team is going to do that?

We had Mark Duffy here when Ben Woodburn arrived, he wasn't good enough and the players that were here weren't going to change that just like coming from a club with Phil Foden won't guarantee that Mcatee's up to it at championship level.

Good enough for the bench. Lightweight, doesn’t make up for that by being a play maker and too many stray passes. Will be a great player one day. Not yet

Mcatee wasn't great today but wasn't the worst (see John Fleck), he was actually showing for the ball and not hiding like the majority of the team in the first half.

Similar to Brewster and his price tag, they hype that followed him means we're gonna be disappointed by his performances as he's miles from the "next David Silva".

He was given the ball in plenty of really good positions today and did absolutely nothing

I can forgive him being weak in the tackle ,positionally naive and a defensive liability if he actually did something on the ball other than just give it away under no real pressure but he just doesn't seem to have the bollox for mens football
