Might be a case of the money not being there unless Berge was sold. Was the same with Anel in January.Bit harsh to treat Kone like that isn't it?

We didn't. It was utter bollocks.Bit harsh to treat Kone like that isn't it?
Well yeah. Just meant he probably got all excited, but we had no real intention of signing himMight be a case of the money not being there unless Berge was sold. Was the same with Anel in January.
If we really were so far down the line with him and had gone to the trouble of scouting him and believed he’d be a good fit for the club wouldn’t surprised me if we circled back when more finances are available if he’s not moved elsewhere that isWell yeah. I suppose it's "all in the game" and we probably told him "we can only do it if we get £25m for Berge"If we really were so far down the line with him and had gone to the trouble of scouting him and believed he’d be a good fit for the club wouldn’t surprised me if we circled back when more finances are available if he’s not moved elsewhere that is
Yeah I doubt we kept anyone in the dark plus it was all over Twitter. Anytime I listen to a football podcast with an ex pro on they seem to have plenty of stories about times they almost moved clubs.I suppose it's "all in the game" and we probably told him "we can only do it if we get £25m for Berge"
I’m not him lol, doesn’t he like twitter either?Oreyt Wit![]()
... But a lot of it.He talks utter shit.
MGW was sold by a PL club , not a Championship club running out of parachute paymentsMGW.
42m.
He was sold on the back of a good year as a championship player. Not a PL player.MGW was sold by a PL club , not a Championship club running out of parachute payments
If a European club activates his £35m release clause tomorrow (if they want to play him in CL) or before 6 Sept , is there fuck all we can do about replacing him ?Imagine if they're taking the piss and activate his release clause tomorrow when we can't get a replacement![]()
He was sold by a wealthy PL club , not a skint Championship club like us , so that alters the negotiating position , resulting in a much higher price than a Championship club could have obtained. He was sold on the back of a good year as a championship player. Not a PL player.
I don't get why that's so hard to understand.
For the second time tonight. I conceed victory. It's a waste of time trying to get through. He was sold by a wealthy PL club , not a skint Championship club like us , so that alters the negotiating position , resulting in a much higher price than a Championship club could have obtained.

Was thinking the same thing and yeah you’re right - I guess it’s unlikely anyone is coming in with that much at this stage, if they did we’d just have to try and convince Sander to say no to personal terms and not screw us.If a European club activates his £35m release clause tomorrow (if they want to play him in CL) or before 6 Sept , is there fuck all we can do about replacing him ?
Would we have to place an traffic cone in midfield ?
If so , we've taken as small risk haven't we ?
We set a club transfedr deadline and that was one week ago. Bar Berges get out clause (which we couldn't doanthing about) being met no one was going anywhere. I get the panic of deadline day due to the McCabe era, but today was never going to throw up any surprises. Was thinking the same thing and yeah you’re right - I guess it’s unlikely anyone is coming in with that much at this stage, if they did we’d just have to try and convince Sander to say no to personal terms and not screw us.
We should really have a national transfer deadline that cuts both ways, ie. once our window is shut our clubs cannot buy OR SELL anyone.
Leave him alone, Darren is our finest narcissistHe talks utter shit.
Proper Norwegian journos calling it bullshit. The real interest was Liverpool for Berge but they opted for Melo.
Jesse Marsch prefers Cock to Egan.
NO BIDS

Who were the cheeky PL clubs then?
