Outgoing? SANDER BERGE ON WAY OUT ?

That’s not the argument you made. You said he wasn’t good enough to play for Liverpool and yet he’s a better player than 3 players named that did.
Fair point.

I will counter with the fact Liverpool were not one of the three best sides in the world when they signed two of those. Ben Davies didn’t get a game.

The first two also have far superior PL histories.

Sander Berge is not good enough to play for Liverpool right now.

After full time whistle last night, Sander looked really happy about the win, had a big chat and arm round him from Hecky. They both looked really happy and relaxed. If that body language meant anything, I'd be tempted to say they both think he's staying.

Naturally an appropriately sized/structured late bid could change all that.

I'm actually an expert lip reader, and right before the big smile and hug Hecky said "Sander, your paperwork's come through from Liverpool, your off in the morning"

If You listen to heckys interview it seems unless the release clause is met he's going nowhere I hope we have a replacement in mind

That’s been the same since June. Yet some media outlets and twitter accounts have tried to push him out and sell him on our behalf. If it was anything to do with his agent (not sure it was) then this is the same agent to negotiated the release clause in the first place so only got himself to blame 🤷‍♂️

If he doesn't go by tomorrow, then I'd be inclined to refute all offers until the summer - the last thing Utd would need in Jan if they're in contention is for him to leave then. It would be more difficult and expensive to backfill, as well as integrate someone into the side and way of playing.

At this point you'd say that he should only go this season if his release clause is hit and we have no choice.

He has settled in well to the role Hecky has fashioned for him and he'll be enjoying his football. I'd be equally as uninterested in trying to refashion the team and January, mid-season as I would be now.

If we go up then his release clause will go back up to 45m and we should start looking at a new deal.

If we don't then we'll probably have to be open to accepting a lower fee than his clause but safe in the comfort that we gave it a go and not the priority would be to not lose him for nothing.

I remember him - he had the worst debut I can remember - absolutely awful and he didn't improve much during the remainder of his loan period. Not sure whether he was unfit, unprepared or just playing massively beyond his capability. The last I saw he was playing for Kings Lynn in the Southern League Prem, which is probably about his level from what I saw.

I've been trying to send a fax to tell them not to sell our best players. Won't connect for some reason. Good sign!!

Appears henderson came off injured 😳. Got a horrible feeling about tomorrow 😕

Due to injuries, arsenal are looking for midfield replacements.

no indication of it being Berge but he fits the type they would be after

He also said no time for replacements to come in.
From his point of view he's staying
Replacements are already here, at least one of Doyle and Macatee were signed in case of this eventuality. However Flecks injury has muddied the water.

Let's not relax yet but Liverpool are signing Arthur (ex Barcelona) the Brazil midfielder off Juventus, which is nice.

This will be the signing of the season.

Liverpool are trying to sign Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo on loan today.
There is still work to be done to complete the deal but bringing in the 26-year-old Brazil international would ease the club’s injury problems in midfield.
Jordan Henderson came off in Wednesday's win against Newcastle United with a hamstring issue and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp says he will “definitely not be available” for the Merseyside derby against Everton on Saturday.
Henderson joins Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the list of injured Liverpool midfielders

Only trouble is now, arsenal are after a midfielder and his mate plays there who might suggest him

The bit of replacements lined up if Berge leaves, they'd have to be on with doing that now I would have thought if there was interest in Berge and if so we'll probably hear on that soon, but that could be the Styles rumour.
