Not really the point I was making and the point is that he will be a bench warmer. Beep test Milner will be on the pitch every week in front of him. That’s how their midfield plays.
Yeah maybe, but I think he stands a better chance of forcing his way in than Ben Davies ever did. Especially given their midfield injuries. I understand the hipster fury I might endure by saying this but Henderson is neither quick, prolific, exceptional in the tackle etc and yet…

And yet Henderson can run about. Another bleep tester.

Although you say berge stands more of a chance because of injury, this was the exact circumstance that davies joined Liverpool. They ended up playing two youngsters in front of him. With jones to come back then thiago when will berge play?

This video shows him tackling, a lot! It also shows him winning defensive headers.

It must be edited as he doesn't do any of those according to this thread

Don’t quote me on this, this is not stat driven or anything but I feel like he has won more headers this season than in his previous seasons combined. This has definitely improved and even won some from opposition corners.

I want to keep berge. We need to get Doyle into the side so we have two midfielders that can feed him the ball where he needs it. He’s a strong vertical runner. He is not the guy to put alongside Norwood away to Luton

I guess that depends on whether he can maintain and/or build upon his levels. He has the talent, no doubt. Henderson enjoys a multiplier playing with such talented players around him. Berge could benefit from the same. All that said, I want us to resist anything below his release and keep a player I consider, on his day, the best in the league.

The song on this video made actually want to fall into oblivion

Lad just messaged me saying there’s a number of Liverpool related accounts saying talks have begun?

Ffs
All feeding each other. It's bollocks.
I'm not knocking the lad, but at this moment in time he isn't a Liverpool calibre player and certainly not at the level we'd want them to pay.

If he isn't starting tonight then I still wouldn't be concerned given the performance on Friday. I think it would be fair to bring him out for Khadra just as we did with Ndiaye. However it would be a surprise but more likely down to a genuine injury/rest.
I just don't see any club who could afford him having an interest at this moment in time.

I agree with you and let’s hope you’re right Bob

I've been a big defender of his (and Brewster and McBurnie for that matter), but I genuinely can't see who would be interested at £20M plus?
If someone could make a case I might waver as we have lots of players in that position and a need to recoup significant funds, but I just don't see anyone desperate enough at this stage. January makes much more sense to me, if he's played well up to the World Cup break.

The post United have just put on Facebook The Blades are back at home tomorrow has 4 photos on with 13 players featured some on twice but interestingly Berge isn't one of them.

I'm sure that this has probably been said already but if Liverpool are actually interested that maybe they see this as a cheap way to strengthen their squad as they would probably just write off the money we owed Brewster with a few million are way?

They are pretty sensible in the market so would make sense from their point of view.

Would leave us in a bad spot though with no money to replace Berge

Remember just before we signed Berge when Man United thought they had got him, there were erections that if placed end to end would have snaked round the pass....

Which is why we would not agree to it. The money for Brewster is already factored, we don't need uncle Jurgen to do us a favour.

Money for Brewster already budgeted for and majority paid for other than performance related. Klopp said in his press conference today that he is happy with his squad if they don’t add anymore. Also said players theyve looked at are at clubs that don’t want to sell so it’s difficult for them to do anything.

Ya welcome.

Liverpool may not be in for him but several other clubs apparently are. Tbh it would probably be in his interest to move to a league where he'll get more time on the ball.

I could understand German, Italian and Spanish teams being in for him but there's not much money sloshing around at the moment, certainly not for gambles on players that have not played at the top level.

Apparently is doing some serious lifting there.
I’m interesting in buying Chatsworth if the Duke will accept £500,000 and apparently no one has made anything more than a derisory offer according to Hecky for Berge so how much real interest is there? I’d say zero at our price point and there’s only a handful of clubs who would pay over £20M and could cover his wages. Unless we’re suddenly accepting low bids this is a total non-story.

He’s played prem and champions league? That not top level enough for ya?

Downing and Adam were doing well I’m the Premier League and Liverpool were not one of the best three teams in the world.

Ben Davies was £1.6m.

There’s no comparison.
That’s not the argument you made. You said he wasn’t good enough to play for Liverpool and yet he’s a better player than 3 players named that did.

this hopefully ends the speculation. berge didnt want to leave & hecky didnt to lose him. but then ive been in football long enough to know. how quick things can change
