When you were 17, any beer was nectar, maybe that’s a bit too far back for you…..😁

Mansfield wasn’t. And my Dad said, don’t bring shame on the family by drinking Trophy. It’s bad enough your mother’s brother drinks Skol from a dimple pint pot!

(Double Diamond in the same glass was fine)

I’m clearing out cupboards and found this. We played Brentford at home on that day 27/11/82 it’s quality made by Warris of Sheffield and has a decent weight. It’s A4 in size. As it was presented by Mansfield brewery I’m assuming it was something like a Man of the Match award. But does anyone else know more. If it’s of historical value and they want it I’d donate it to the Blades museum, though I doubt it would be of interest to them. Any ideas?View attachment 141355View attachment 141356View attachment 141357

Think they were gifts to match sponsors, have messaged the man who would know/who would curate for the museum :)

My first pint. Barlow Young Farmers Rock Night. 35p a pint in plastic pots.

Proper nights out. Meet up in the Peacock - not get served - fight with the kids from Newbold on the Rec - get pissed on 4 pints of Mansfield to AC/DC and Whitesnake - walk home pissed through the woods and scare the living shite out of each other.

Simpler times eh?

Carnival time.

Get on the Rec (Recreation ground).

Luckily not as messy as the beer tent at Flagg races.

Anyone remember the Polish Ex-Serviceman’s Club on Ecclesall Road (Huners Bar end) as a haven for under age drinking discos in the late 70s and early 80s?!?
I do - I lived at Hunters Bar. Also used to drink in the Lescar (bit of an old man’s pub but not fussy about age - unlike the Sharron).

Mansfield Bitter 4 pint cans>>>Watneys Party 7. They were compulsory entry tickets to our parties. Remember two towers stacked to the ceiling at one party in a flat in Clarkehouse Road!!
