Didn't celebrate his goal.

Reminiscent of Lundstram having the face on after coming on and scoring the winner at the back end of our first season in the PL.

He was excellent today and if we keep him we give ourselves a much better chance at promotion than if we lose him and don't use the funds on the first team.

I just hope he isn't trying too hard to force the issue behind the scenes.
I saw that too mate. Hopefully just one of those celebrations where you try to act cool. Didn’t look too happy though…

it's interesting that two of you saw something that didn't happen. He did celebrate the goal, running into the corner and performing a poorly executed knee slide and was mobbed by his team mates.

Stood out a mile. Only more time on the training field can sort out the knee slide execution.

What about the knee slide towards JSS then?
Watch this:

Just saw your apology so all is forgiven 👍

It's one of the things that really disappoints me about him. We all know he's capable of a world class goal celebrations but he just hasn't shown it yet.

Alternatively, I'm also a bit disapointed in the groundman for letting Berge down on this. A bit more watering in that area and the lad might have had a chance.

As long as they don't overdo it and he slides right into gang way F of the Kop without the correct seat number for that area or he'll find himself talking to Mr Pavement on John Street courtesy of the stewards.

I’m not trying to make anything of it. Just on the “delighted I’ve scored” scale he was subdued. He actually looked happier for Whitney’s goal!

Yeah, there's a difference between not celebrating his goal and f'ing up his celebration, which he 100% managed to do. 😂

I love it when players fuck up a knee slide. Slide about 4 inches, stall completely, fall on face. Perfect!

It’s becoming clear now why we’ve brought McAtee in. He’s here to help with the goal celebrations.
Watch out for Sander’s poorly executed back flip next time he scores. Let’s hope he doesn’t do himself a mischief.

Typical Utd - always taking the cheap option! They obviously didn't tick all the 'add-on' boxes when ordering the Desso pitch. For just £30 more they could have had one of these installed which would have stopped Berge looking like a tit and making some people believe he had purposely stunted his knee-slide celebration because he hates it at Utd and wants out!

No such irrigation related issues at the Rust Bucket of course - they've done it properly building the ground next to a river that prone to bursting its banks!

Interesting they Everton are about to pay 33m+ for Onana. I think I mentioned earlier in a Berge thread how unique he is. In terms of being a midfielder under 25 and 6'5", the only two who meet this criteria are Berge and Onana. That's how difficult it is to replace him with a player of his attributes.

I wouldn't use Everton's record in paying for players as a yardstick. They are a joke club.

In fairness, we both did see him not smiling "when mobbed by his teammates..."

There’s no much “in fairness”’ here. You asserted something that didn’t happen and used it to suggest one of our players was actively agitating for a move. Sander’s actions so far have been the epitome of professional and yet you look to undermine that with completely made up nonsense. Even by your negative standards, this one was scraping the barrel.
Bad Form Captain.

I didn't "assert" or "make up" anything. I made an error, which I quickly admitted once it had been pointed out.

I also didn't "suggest" he was doing anything.
I expressed that I hoped he wasn't pushing too hard behind the scenes in the way that Lundstram did. I didn't imply that he was.

And I don't believe that my standards usually are "negative." I've been full of praise for the team after Saturday's performance and encouraged by lots of what I saw. I also was quick to say that we shouldn't be overreacting to the Watford game.
I've said on a number of occasions that I think we look a top six side again.

Your post is nonsense.

You made it up. It didn’t happen and you stated it as fact not opinion and then doubled down comparing his attitude to JL7 before

You then suggested based on what you made up, that he could or you feared he could, be agitating for a move, when there’s no evidence or suggestion of it. In fact completely the opposite, he’s been incredibly professional throughout and not said a word about it.

Without anything to moan about you’re making stuff up and then speculating how it could have a negative effect on us. Crazy!

I don't know Onana at all, but I don't think height has much bearing on Berge's value. He's just not that sort of player. His footballing attributes are all about what he does with the ball when it's at his feet (I agree we'd be hard pressed to replace that).

Similarly, there's a 24-year old lad who's 6'6" playing for my old pub team in centre mid. He looks pretty abysmal at football though. I don't think anyone is coming in with a 30m bid for him.

With regards to the celebration, there's clearly a difference between making a mistake and consciously making stuff up.

I also think there's been plenty of smoke re: Berge wanting a move (his international manager speaking publicly, Heckingbottom telling him that his route out would be good early form - that he wants to play at the highest level etc.).

I'm pretty sure you said all of this about Ramsdale at the time and how he was the ultimate professional, no signs he wanted to move etc.
They're young lads, they want to play at the highest level and earn the most money they can, it's logical that they will want out if there's bigger & better options.

Anyway, I'm not going to do this with you as you have a weird prejudice when it comes to my posts as you've shown. Enjoy your week.

I understand you not wanting to get into this it’s a beautiful day, however there isn’t a prejudice I’ve simply presented your words as you posted them. I’ve not shown them out of context or changed them in anyway, it’s what you are stating as fact.

Here’s another post from you on the subject.
Berge wants out 100%. His Agent was at it all last Summer & now the Norwegian international manager. We just need to hope we look after ourselves in negotiations. However, with my mystic meg hat on ... we will be low balled & Berge will cause drama behind the scenes.
To be clear I doubt anyone believes he’d rather be here than in the PL, so the issue isn’t with that point but you’re throwing some serious mud about his character and professionalism without any evidence at this stage purely based on what you’ve just decided he is doing. Resulting in you making up a story that he didn’t celebrate which at least 27,000 people could have told you he did. There was also nothing reminiscent of JL7 in his performance or attitude on Saturday.
And yes, you did the same with Rammers, again with no one evidence as you didn’t have any until after the WBA game.
If you’re going to take a pop at our players at least have something real and tangible supporting your view and don’t blatantly make something up and state it as fact. That’s not fair.

It's getting boring now, mate.

I didn't consciously make anything up. I made an error which I admitted to immediately once it had been pointed out.

Why would I consciously make that up when 27,000 people saw it live, numerous others on a stream and there's video evidence in the form of highlights?
Regurgitating my mistake and twisting it to make me look like I'm a liar is beyond weird.

I was right with my speculation on Ramsdale, as has been proven since.
I hope Berge is not acting similar. His matchday performances suggest not.
