I don’t actually think arblaster needs a loan. It’s clear that he doesn’t need to understand the game any more. In regards of positioning and stuff with the ball I think he’s a first team player. He just needs to get stronger as should be expected for someone his age
I think the only good a loan could do is get him used to mens football, but if he's good enough already I agree that could just be futile.

He certainly hasn't looked out of his depth or overawed in these friendlies.

I thought Arblaster was the most impressive out of the younger lads on Saturday. Showed lots of nice touches and turns and always wanted to get on the ball which was good to see. He looks like he can find a pass too.

He looks more like a potential number 10 than a central mid

Showed a good feel for space and pressure against Scunny and a knowledge of how to get himself out of it. Also showed he has that quickness to get himself a yard or two. He’ll need to use the ball better though if he’s to impact games at this level.

I thought he was excellent tonight. His touch and composure is great and while he's almost exclusively played in Norwood's holding role he adapted well to LCM tonight. Nice to see a player use both feet as well. I've been a fan of Brunt as well, but one thing that Arblaster does better is that he is just busier. Brunt may match his touch and pass, but Arblaster follows that up by immediately getting into a new position to receive the ball again. It is that hunger to be constantly involved and make good contributions to the team that may see Arblaster get further. He's got some physical limitations, but it is very exciting to have him and Peck coming through, at the same time as Jebbison, Osula and Lankshear. We should keep these guys in mind when it comes to recruitment elsewhere. Get the right players in to complement these lads and we may see enormous benefits in a few years.

Enjoying reading back through this thread with the know-nowts decrying those who'd actually watched them play. Fun stuff.

Needs to bulk up.
Needs a loan to Leigh RMI
Needs to put a few more hardened tackles in
Needs to get it forward more
Needs to stop tippy tapping around

Often can see if a player has 'it' within 5 minutes and he certainly has the chance of making it. Will need luck and hard work but I wouldn't be shocked if he goes to a conference side so we can recall him easier while giving him men's football to learn quicker.

I didn't see the game tonight, but he's an excellent player that oozes class.
Very tidy, good footballing brain, confident. Want to see him really try to have an impact further up the field, but it will come.

Not sure what his contract terms are, but I would imagine that we need to be revisiting them in January.

Super player in the making on tonight’s evidence, comforting to see a player who is happy to use either feet. A defenders nightmare.

It’s easy to recognise a talent like Brooks instantly. But folk often write off kids whose promise lies elsewhere.

Jagielka was a phenomenal athlete who needed to find a role. DCL had amazing physical abilities but was so game-unaware at 19 that he just couldn’t seem to get involved. Both were written off by plenty, but others saw the promise. Football is about more than skillz.

Yeah DCL I just didn't see it. However I will always remember the youth cup final where Maguire was obviously our best player and Pogba shone way more than this hyped up wonder kid Ravel Morrison.

He shows great potential at 18. Hopefully still much more to come with good coaching and decision making by Hecky and his staff.
Always exciting when home grown talent emerges at first team level. It looks like he will flourish further as he grows.
What a great prospect.

At our peak under Wilder, our central midfielders constantly showed for the ball, and were always busy. Gave the man on the ball plenty of options.

I don't know if it's the aging of the midfield, or damaged confidence from our relagation season, but they became statuesque. Very frustrating to see a center half on the ball, trying to progress, with the 3 in front of him static or hiding behind their marker.

Hope some of these additions or young players can get us back to having more movement

Watched DCL in the academy he always had the quality just needed time to grow and mature.

No surprise to me where he's t know.
Now if we can mature the latest bunch and keep them! The future is Bright !

---but only if we can keep their heads right and stop other clubs nicking them.

The pinnacle of this was the holy trinity. Coutts, Fleck & Duffy worked in tandem so well. Always available for each other. Pass and go.

We changed styles when Norwood came in and the pass lengths started increasing.
Then Lundstram arrived and that midfield link-up disappeared in place of wide triangles with the centre half and wing back.

Refreshing to Arblaster showing and going. Hopefully this transfers into the final third and he's confident enough to thread little balls in behind. That's the development area that will elevate him into something special.
Hopefully he has a shot on him too.

I really think Blaster will be one of those who can just be brought into the first team, without a loan. They’re rare, but he does look so comfortable so far.

I worry that sending him out on loan may just mean he loses that chance to be involved. We’ve seen it before where we’ve sent young players out on loan, only to have to bring in someone else on loan or permanent, who’s probably not as good.

Given Fleck’s poor performances since Covid (bar two/three games), and Doyle being out, there’s a good opportunity for someone like Arblaster or Coulibaly.
