When Arsenal were interested in Fleck, he was in the best form of his life. If we’d sold him then, it would have been meltdown on here. “Why do we always sell our best players” etc.
It would have been I agree but that’s what the best clubs do… they have a plan of bringing players in, developing them and then getting maximum amount and purchasing another to be developed but maybe with a higher base point than the player sold. We never seem to have such a plan although I will say we have got better at getting a fair price when we do sell.

Brentford are the perfect example.

this is taking too long now for my liking. Its looking like its going to fall through. I hope I am totally wrong of course

It does seem that way, I think if Brighton are playing silly buggers its because someone else has made an offer.

Not really. Just giving my thoughts on a discussion forum! God forbid !
But you’re saying it looks like falling through because “it’s taking too long” im comparing it to how long it took for Henderson to sign for us. Nothing to do with your thoughts ont be subject

When signings seem to drag on, It comes across to me that their seems to be something wrong. I might be wrong. I hope I am. Don't know why you are bringing Henderson into it. There was a few doubts on here about him coming back. Not from me though! So you got that wrong about me for a start! No need to get personal. This is A forum where you can write about you hopes and worries about SUFC in general.

I brought Henderson into it, because Man U made him sign a deal before sending him out on loan the second season and it dragged on forever. What I’m saying is there is history of this happening before. No need to panic

I have no proof, I never confessed to having any eather.
But, apparently Blackburn asked to loan him back for this season, Sunderland have also apparently approached, about his availability.
If you can prove they both havent, I'm happy to accept that.

well the burden of proof is on the claimant

eIther way what a load of bollocks

Not happening…….Dilly dallying has led to other offers and agreement with BHA, other club only needs to agree terms with player, YHIHF

Palmer at city would also be a great get although there’s buzz around him making their squad. If he doesn’t make the final cut though he could become available
Would they loan him though, knowing he could be competing with another one of their young players for a starting spot. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t keep them apart for that reason.

As to the delays on Khadra, it’s no different by the looks of it to Lopata. That situation is hardly resolving itself quickly, is it? It just isn’t getting the same bandwidth because there are no reports of other teams banging on the door for him.

United could resolve the impasse easily enough if they wanted. They could buy the lad outright. Obviously though it depends on what Brighton want for him and whether we are prepared to pay their asking price. As I understand it, United are open to all choices I. E. Loan, loan to purchase option, or straight purchase. There must be a reason why we haven't pressed the purchase option so far. I'd imagine that is the asking price being to steep as it stands. I think the logical way to go is for Brighton to sign the lad up for another year extension, agree a loan with pre agreed price option to buy at the end of the loan (if cashflow an issue with Utd at the moment) and then even of the purchase doesn't work out, the lad is in the same position next pre season I. E. 1 year left on his contract. This is dependent on the lad himself being agreeable to it as well. The other option is that Brighton agree to sell him to us fairly cheaply but with a large percentage sell on attached. That could work for all.

Just seen Man City want one of thier players, has that had an effect on this deal, maybe they need kadra at Brighton for cover if the deal goes through on the last day (we know city have a quid or two more to get this done)

I don't follow Brighton and have forgot the long haired chaps name.. I'm not ashamed about not knowing anything about Brighton do they both play in a similar position even?

Cucarella, no he's a fullback.

I don’t see Doyle and Palmer as direct competition for each other I see Doyle as an out and out centremid although I know pep has said he could play further forward. Palmer is a winger who can also play inside as a 10 I don’t think they’d be direct competition for each other.

I think the big difference between the Khadra and Lopata situations is Brighton look open to doing a deal even a perm one it’s just the structure of that deal that needs fine tuning where with us it seems we want to keep lopata and will only not do so if forced.

Don't know if this will have any bearing on the deal for him....

I remember United were linked with that Austrian lad a while back ironically. I doubt it has a bearing though

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest. It has been two weeks since it was first broke by Nathan Hemmingham that we were interested.

How do you, and seemingly others, draw this conclusion?

Every news outlet, every reliable source linked to the club, every SUFC representative (ie PH), confirms that it is BHA end holding up the deal.

You SHOULD be very ashamed

Sounds like the other player is another attacking / creative type.
Not in for a striker (which I think is daft).

Tend to agree unless the attacking midfielders are the types who usually weigh in with a good few goals.

I'm confident of Brewster coming good in this regard this season but as superb as Billy has been, we have to be realistic about a player at 36 who's had a lengthy injury by his standards.

McBurnie could still turn the corner with a run of fitness based on his previous at this level, despite the last couple of seasons.

Jebbo and Osula still need to be given time yo develop at their age imho.
