I’d be very much for bringing roofe in.

Versatile player who can play in the stacking midfield as well as upfront.

Certainly, I could see this as an option if one of the key strikers doesn’t come off. That said I’m not sure he’s a ready made for the Duffy / freeman role as that requires the level of control to play in our system.

Roofe is another with a year left on his contract who would have had 20+ goals last season without the injury.

We've already signed one of those, with the injury reducing the fee.

Signing 2 of these aged 24 and 26 for about £13m would be a typically clever, value for money piece of business. A prime example of what we do.

As long as they aren't injury prone, which I don't think they are.

The fact that we went in for Lawrence makes me think we're probably interested in Roofe. Quite similar mold of player. Like Lawrence, can play as a CF, false 9 or as an inside fwd. His goal to game record is quite impressive considering he's played in numerous positions.

I'd prefer Roofe tbh. No idea what's been going on with him in Scotland though.
