Thoughts on the kit?

Just a post to help this thread hit the 100 pages mark. Perhaps i could bore all of you with my exact tastes for a united kit, perhaps youd like to know just exactly how thick or thin a stripe should be, what do i like in a collar or what material it should have, how much should it cost and when i find it convenient for a release day. Most of you moaning tight cunts wont even buy it haha
Pro collar or non collar?

don’t get the needing one for holiday stuff anyway, football shirts make me sweat twice as much as any normal cotton t shirt/shirt, avoid them like the plague if it’s hot

I kind of get it if that's what people have always done.

To some, holiday "traditions" are a big thing, they always were to me and Ms Crab. I always used to buy a watch at the airport, she always used to get a Radley bag. It was part of what we did.

So to a lot of people, buying the new shirt is part of what they do.

So yeah, after the shit of the last couple of years i do understand why certain traditions are important to people.

I have my thoughts on the way this has been done, smacks of tinpot. But do you know what? Just enjoy the fucking holiday, a lot of people won't be getting one.....

Part of me thinks it’s better to have the shirt on sale close to the season (or for the last game of the season like we used to). There’s more interest and engagement in the club the closer the season gets and therefore, they’re probably likely to shift more shirts.

Putting it on sale at the beginning of June might miss a bit of that.

I could be wrong of course, just playing devil’s advocate.

Picture the scenario: after months and months of lockdown, and stuck at WFH in Sheffield, the Marketing Department were invited over to sunny Italy to deal directly with our new kit designers. Reading our regular kit threads over the years, they knew what we wanted - non-template and bespoke. Bespoke and Unique! That's all they chatted about on the flight over.
A little shy and all huddled together, they were ushered into the 'Design Space' where very cool Italian designers were welcoming them to sit down on some inflatable cushions.
Then out came the trolley, full of Prosecco and Birra Moretti. On the table opposite there was every kind of design tool - gleaming Macs, Crayons, Oil Paint and hundreds of sheets of High Quality hand-made Italian Paper.
At first it was a little slow, but then the music started. They drank some wine, they drank beer, they sang, they danced and in a whirl of chalk cloud and paint spray, they also designed.
The next day, they woke up - the design room was empty. Except for empty bottles, torn sheets of paper and paint all over the walls. Then their driver entered and escorted them back to the airport. On the flight home all was silence, none of them could remember much of the previous day - apart from a loud chanting of "Bespoke! Bespoke! Bespoke!" The trip was never mentioned again.
About 4 weeks ago, the shirts arrived. One box was opened.
They are still sat there in the office. Every morning the Marketing Team just stand there - staring at those hundreds and hundreds of unopened boxes. Staring at each other. WTF have we done? WTF can we do? We can't release these, we will get torn apart. They are all currently looking for new jobs, in the hope they will be long gone before the Season starts.

That’s a rendered image, not the actual kit. I’m not saying it’s not a rendered image of how the kit looks but it’s definitely not an actual football shirt.
How so?

[EDIT] Just saw matt's post re: the concept strip. As you were.

Not ITK as such but I know the photoshoot planned for the shirt launch was cancelled so something has not gone according to plan. IMO the only reason that would be is that we were not happy with the first batch we got sent and sent hem back.

Knowing us it's a triple whammy of COVID and monkeypox and ebola!

If the kit release is week commencing 25th of July, in theory we could be releasing the kit after the season has started for most clubs. What is going on?
