Just going on the fact there's only 500k tickets sold. 220k of them are England's games and the final. So 280k between the other 27 games is it really says it all. Very little interest.
Averaging over 10k per game even after the host nation has been removed puts it very much in the top bracket of international tournaments, in any sport. Still time for more sales, too.
Compared to men's football it feels like a small number but it's not really a fair or helpful comparison.
The 1958 World Cup group playoff between Wales and Hungary had a crowd of 2500. Things taken time.
