Singing/Ultra's Section

Have noticed more and more and more that clubs are organising sections of the ground for fans to create an atmosphere Crystal palace been the most well known but plenty of other teams are doing it such as Huddersfield and Bristol I think

Been totally honest the atmosphere at the lane bar about 2 games has been akin to a library IMO

With no news on rail seating been introduced when plenty of other clubs already have or have announced plans to do so the atmosphere shows no sign of improving IMO

This isn't a problem at the lane the majority of grounds now resemble a library

Would there be an appetite for it ? we could be called the Bramall lane Ultras for example

The Bristol Ultras must have been on holiday when we went there this year, could have heard a pin drop in the home stands....

I am up for a Steel drums band getting that Caribbean feeling on a wet, cold Tuesday night at BDTBL as long as it comes with a shot of Wray and Nephews Rum and a bottle of Red Stripe for £3 then happy days.

Fucking singing section? Get a fucking grip. Best thing we could do is have a feighting section because nowt gets the fans going more than a good old fashioned scrap. If it kicks off on the pitch, volume goes up and if it starts in the stand, same again.

Maybe have an area where the singers can go, all dressed the same, with a conductor and all that shit and another area for the scrappers, and if the singers are getting on everybody's tits, open the gates and let the fighting section have the fuckers off.
Could have one dressed like a motorcycle cop, one like a cowboy, another a construction worker…you follow my drift.

Football is an organic thing...We’ve already got “singing sections” at the back of the Kop and H block.
Football is one of the most organised things we have in our lives/society. It couldn't be less organic. 25k people just "organically" turning up around a field every fortnight at the same time...

No interest in Sheffield apparently and every one frowns at the thought of a drum creating a singing rhythm and improving the atmosphere
Strange but true, it definitely works at Derby, Reading, Boro etc
It works at Reading ?????
I was there when they played Peterborough and I have been in noisier libraries !

It’s organic because on that day they choose to go and are not forced to.

And the team are not forced to turn up. And the league are not forced to award three points for a win. And the manager is not forced to field 11 players. And the referee may choose to play the lbw rule rather than offside. Football is one of the most organised aspects of our life/society. It's a long way from being organic.

Next step the club will have some bloke playing canned cheering every time they kick the ball.......

If they need a cheer then they have to do something on the field to warrant it......

Can’t be doing with all these attempts to create a faux atmosphere .

But the crowd create the noise/atmosphere. Thankfully the silly, cheesy music after a goal are long gone

anyone who went Coventry & Derby knows how horrible the drum is. imagine the poor bloke wgo has to sit/stand next to him. nevermind spending £400 on a ticket. id want to be paid £400 in compensation

Both are contracted to do so. Fans are not.

Every football crowd chant. In every football stadium in the World. Is started the same way. Someone belts out a rhythm, or the first few bars, in a way that people near them will recognise and (hopefully) join in. Often, the person starting the chant will use arm gestures, waving, punching the air, etc to help people understand what is happening and encourage them to join in. That is the same process at "pure unsullied" Bramall Lane & "cringeworthy" Selhurst Park. The process of getting chants going in football grounds is all a bit silly. Someone ALWAYS organises it (by starting it) and it ALWAYS grows organically as more people join in. ALWAYS a bit silly. The idea that there's a right way to do this silly thing (The Bramall Lane way) and a wrong way to do this silly thing (The Ultras Way) is preposterous.

The problem being , it could be your looks and his charm . :)
“ A fine little chap were young Cahill
All dressed in his best , quite a swell
He’d a cane with a ‘orses ’ead ‘andle
The finest that Woolworths could sell “
