Crowd on Monday

It just shows what the people who deal with selling the tickets think about the fans, they expect you to pay full-price restricted view tickets. that is definitely out of order they should knock a tender off the price at least. you can't blame people for that when they can watch on sky in the comfort of their home. The ticketing system should be changed now that we have a new Owners/board running the club. If people want to buy season tickets with family/friends they should have a system where they can do that. the rule should be season ticket holders get priority for tickets for away games/cup games. the point of one ticket per customer as it is now quite frankly is very unfair.I am a season ticket holder and can never get a ticket for away games I have travelled all over the country supporting The Blades. Tomorrow's game against Leeds should be a complete sell-out by now, but with the club ticket policy, nearly a thousand tickets are not sold. That is a showing-up a complete shame.
spot on post i hope our new american owners are taking note of the empty seats

An atmosphere similar to this one vs Leeds would be welcomed. Remember cutting my shin open jumping up and down on the south after Jags screamer flew in! Fantastic night!

Paul Walker, absolute Ledge on that commentary. 3 minutes after the equaliser, Edwards is calmly summarising while Walker is still bouncing round the South Stand, hugging strangers and kissing them on the cheek. 🤣

hopefully the teams performance will create the atmosphere.

Expect crowd trouble if Leeds go in front, I know for a fact there are Leeds fans in the upper tier.

With hundreds of tickets still available on the BL Upper due to pricing and purchase restrictions, and thousands of ticketless Leeds fans who'd be happy to pay 50 quid for a ticket, it would be surprising if none of them managed to get on.

What, you mean our 650 points minimum isn’t fail safe!? 😮

Are all the restrictions on purchasing tickets self imposed or have we been told we have to do it?

Just had an email saying tickets available for tonight. A quick check I would say 300. With pricing and restrictions we are shooting ourselves in the foot. This should have been sold out weeks ago and would have been if the system was better!

Yeah, looks to be 3-400 still available on the BL Upper and loads on the side of the kop

Bit late now but might have been an idea to have given some as freebies to the kids at that school where our fellow Blade died.

The reply from the club said it isn't self imposed but by coordination with police etc.
Also the reply mentions the restriction amounts to the buyer having been to 5 games in the last 20 years.
It will prevent some new fans for this particular match, but the points restriction isn't the reason for unsold tickets imo.

I think it all plays a part. In terms of new fans or infrequent fans this is exactly the sort of game they would be tempted to go to. How many new fans would be tempted by Plymouth at home.

If they are brand new, they 'have' to be , as those few hundred would be bought by Leeds fans. There has to be some method. So the restriction is there. Not really seen anyone suggest a better way.
Cheap entry for local school / colleges seems a good way maybe, or season ticket holders being able to buy extra, maybe only to registered friends and family.
People saying it's crap, really need to suggest a good solution (not aimed at you btw)

Thats a fair point. I suspect the non sell out is due to the fact that it is a minimum of £41 for a ticket. Can go and watch it in the boozer and spend less than that. If it was £20 it would have sold out comfortably i would have thought

Pricing is clearly wrong here, but it’s also a Monday night and live in sky. I know this is a ‘main match’ but I do feel the vast amount of live sky games for every team for run-of-the-mill matches is going to decimate midweek attendances. Once you’ve got used to not being there and watching from the comfort of the sofa or pub it’ll be hard to tempt people back at £40 a ticket.

Can't commit to a season ticket currently, and because individual tickets are so oppressively expensive, I've effectively had to accept becoming an armchair fan now. Which thoroughly saddens me, as I love going to games.

A single ticket being over 40 quid, means that depending on a few things (if someone goes with me, costs of food/drinks etc. that I might want to get), I could easily push 100 quid on a single game. That's absolute madness.

Football in general has become such a monetary arms race, that fans are the ones being sacrificed in the pursuit. Pretty much every match we play that isn't a Sat 3PM kick off is on Sky, which undoubtedly has financial benefits for the club. But then you end up with fewer bums on seats, and "Football in a library", as is so frequently sung these days.
And all so the players can earn 20-40k per week

It is when there's a pointless points restriction for every single game these days. Wonder how many potential new fans have been turned away over the last 5 years because they don't have 100 points or whatever

spot on sheffsteel i think the club are trying to railroad fans in to buying a season ticket by charging top end prices for potd fans season tickets and potd prices at the lane are so wide apart it can only be for this reason just dont think their considering fans that cant afford a season ticket or cant go to every game through either family or work reasons i welcome this fans group innitiative in meeting with club officials
I'm pretty sure when we were last in the PL we sold the maximum amount of season tickets allowed. Given the massive increase in prices for POTD tickets what do u reckon the next cab off the rank will be if we go up? I'll tell you, brace yourself for a BIG increase in season ticket prices to close that 'so wide apart' you mention above.

Agree….that is my fear too..
Inflation is currently about 3%, think the ST rise will be easily over 10%.

There isn't point restriction for every single game at all. Next two are on free general sale now, others before have gone on general sale.
This is a comment said by people. But just isn't the case. A discussion needs to be had on ticketing. But at least have the discussion using facts.

This is the problem:

That loosely translates to - "If the away team sell out, we will penalise our own fans who may want to visit at the last minute, or bring a friend/relative"

Posted on another thread about Leeds tickets, saw an advert on YouTube for seatsnet selling tickets for tonight’s game, asked what is the point of restrictions for us if they are available on line and how do they get the tickets to sell?

The Bristol restriction (IF it came in) wouldn't really penalise any fan (assumes fan means they've been to a match before). Bringing a first time visitor friend could be harder. But in practice they let you.

If there are restrictions on fans getting tickets how have Leeds fans managed to get tickets in upper tier

Its just excuse after excuse for not attending tonight
Fair enough re cost, people have other priorities
Spoke to 2 bladdered Blades Sat who said they've been priced out, while necking £6.50 Peroni 🤔
Should be a sell out
Embarrassing it aint
