It's not though, is it? It's adding 2 and 2 to get 5.
This is when Hecky was questioned on it. His words are "Will's been doing well, aswell". That is not as bad as 2+2=5
Exactly this. It’s only half a season and we need numbers. What if Billy gets injured or sent off? He's contracted to Sheffield United and we're suffering an injury crisis, especially up front.
Not an ideal situation for the lad but circumstances dictate.
Not much more to add really.
Its the exact same as what Slav did to Brewster at the start of the season
Just constantly playing sharp is not good for the long term future of the club he is 36 isn't as good as most people suggest and stops the pathway for the future players to come through
Not only is it not good for the long term squad it doesn't make sense to run sharp into the ground and play him every minute when we need players fresh
I take your point. Which I fully understand. I've sometimes referred to us as an "always striving club". Each & every season, striving to stay in a division or striving to get in another. Partly, the play offs have created that for many many clubs. I think it's increasingly difficult to develop a strategy to introduce youngsters into a squad in a controlled, strategic way - because we're all always striving - and need to keep playing experienced (sometimes journeymen) players. We're not concerned, right now, with the long term future of the club.
There's a short term opportunity that we can make the play-offs and get promoted. That has to be where all of our immediate focus lies.
If we take our shot and miss then sure, in the summer, let's look at our medium & long term plans. But let's at least take that shot with our best players.
Maybe that's what Hecky wanted.I understand everyone's views, but, surely he should be feeling a little pissed off, that Osula gets the nod ahead of him yesterday?
Hecky bungled the subs badly last night as everyone could see, but good clutching with the reverse psychology!Maybe that's what Hecky wanted.

I agree. But, the question was about player management. If the said player who was brought back to step in, should the crisis worsen, be required, does he have the minutes over the last 6 weeks to appropriately step up? Is he capable? If he’s not capable, we should have left him at Burton. It’s unbelievable how dense some of our fans are , he was brought back due to striker injuries and just incase we had anymore. When he did come on the other week he got thrown under the bus for a poor pass.He is clearly not ready ,heckingbottom is an intelligent bloke and knows them youngsters inside out.
Yes Andy I was thinking on the same lines.Maybe that's what Hecky wanted.
I’ve seen that happen - fetching the balls back up and down those slippery wet banks has been the reason for all these injuriesSince Borussia Dortmund offered* £30m for him he's just turned up for training and booted the balls down the banking every day and generally been a pain in the arse.
*This might be made up
If we were 14th and going nowhere then your argument might hold some water. Its the exact same as what Slav did to Brewster at the start of the season

Thing is we had a lot of good possession but we didn't exactly turn it into opportunities. Sharp had that decent shot wide but how many saves did the keeper have to make?Last night is probably one that the Sharp critics will love as he didn't really do much at all.
Of course he did. Our best spell in the second half was when he brought Hourihane on.Hecky bungled the subs badly last night as everyone could see, but good clutching with the reverse psychology!
What has?And there we have it folks. It’s finally coming to bite us on the arse.
The over reliance and over use of Billy, and lack of minutes and experience for Jebbison. Obviously. What has?
He did himself no harm whatsoever. Put himself about. Good job, cos we really REALLY need him now.Thought he did well
What a shite postWhat a shite thread
Well not using Jebbo or anyone else has meant we have probably fucked Sharp for the rest of the season.
