Which was the last match that McBurnie scored in, and how many starts as opposed to sub appearances has he made since then?

You know Burke who will just run the ball straight out of play and into the hoardings at full speed? He’s miles better than McBurnie.

70% possession. 22 shots 3 on target. No lack of effort but a lack of tactical nous and a lack of balance in the line up. Norwood and Hourihane play very similar roles. The sit back to receive the ball and its a Hollywood ball to the sides or an attempt at a pass to feet of a forward player from too far out.
MGW and Ndiyae don't fill the no 10 spot enough and generally move to the sides. On the few occasions they did attack more centrally they looked more dangerous.

When Berge came on he did well but again working mainly on the right hand side. With only a few minutes to go he received the ball centrally 10 yards outside the box and passed a simple ball back. That is where he should have turned on the ball and drove into the box and slide a slow pass for a forward. Going down the sides against a team who is working hard to defend is not effective.

For the first time in my life I hope to god we don't go up, it would be truly embarrassing

Hull are a dirty fucking team.

Mind you.. the ref let them get away with it all game so fair play to them I guess
Agree with this… but I’m not congratulating a team for getting a point just because the ref takes the easy option with every single decision. It totally broke up play. I can’t see any positive (for football as a game) when ‘break up’ tactics are rewarded. Surely nobody wants to see that. I know I don’t encourage the young uns to play in that manner. You know what I mean?

Brutal takes on McBurnie here, not his fault we are forced to use him before he's match fit, blame Brewster's hamstring going pop or Moussets McDonald's habit, look at how much football he's played ffs, we need to use the squad playing this many games you can't just play a 36 year old every game or you risk losing him too. Been allocated we'd to be shithoused by a weak ref take the point and onto the next one.

Baldock is dreadful he spends more time trying to bully his man instead of playing the games he’s an egotistical prick. He’s fucking wank. Keane-Potter had him on toast all fucking game. Stop playing this toxic old guard. Idc hecky you’re useless at making substitutions aswell. No jebbison, what’s the fucking point in having him here

Poor really. Scrappy game against an opposition intent on breaking the game up. We just didn't create enough clear-cut chances although we largely dominated.. It was more hopeful than anything else. We need to shoot first time. There's an extra touch all the time which gives their defenders a chance to get back. Lack of intent going forward and sloppy with the ball. I'd like to see more players having a go.

Foderingham - 6 - Had nothing to do really. Got beaten to the ball late on which really shouldn't have been happening in that position
RND - 6 - Poor generally going forward but a bit more resolute at the back. Kept going though to the very end
Robinson - 6 - Should have done better with a header but strong again at the back. Supported well first half.
Egan - 6 - Did well against Forss. Less so against Eaves. Pretty solid.
Basham - 5.5 - Got skinned again really badly and both he and Baldock struggled with Lewis-Potter first half. Better in the second.
Baldock - 5.5 - As above. There attacks kept coming down that side though.
Hourihane - 6 - Put some very good balls in and passes first half but faded. Gave the ball away really badly and was fairly anonymous before coming off.
Norwood - 5 - When he's on the ball going forward we look so much more dangerous but kept giving the ball away second half and lucky to stay on.
MGW - 6 - Poor first half and nothing really stuck. Was a peripheral figure. Much better second half and was at the heart of most of our best stuff.
Ndiaye 4.5 - I thought he was poor again. Similar to MGW first half but didn't really improve. Had a chance he should have taken first time. Doesn't protect the ball and seems to be getting pushed around way too easily. Maybe extra weights?
McBurnie - 6 - He still looks way off full fitness and lacking strength. Should have done better with a couple of chances and seems to struggle to strike a ball cleanly. Dangerous in the air and was a threat throughout. Linked up the attacks well. Needs to stop being a dickhead off the ball though. All the afters will get him in trouble one day.

Subs

Sharp - 5 - I thought he had hardly any impact. The one shot that was blocked but he never really got up to speed
Berge - 6 - When he chose to take on a man he was good. Difficult to stop. Needs to do more of that.

Hecky - 5 - I can understand why he made the changes and a little surprised he didn't make more given this looked on paper the easiest game this month. It didn't really work but he's clearly working with limited options. Players are looking tired second halves and he'll need to keep rotating and hope for the best. We really need a goal outlet that isn't Sharp though.

Hull - Horrible team to watch but you have to credit their defence for putting their bodies on the line. Lew-Potter looks a talented player but maybe not big on teamwork!

How do you know what Jebbison has trained like? How do you know he's come back firing.....?

How the hell their keeper didn't get a booking I'll never kn

Well I don’t need anyone else’s take to tell me that up front we were woeful tonight.
Norwood for all his sloppiness was everywhere going forward and I thought had a really good game. Shame his corners are utterly pointless.

Ndiaye, McBurnie and MGW all poor for me. Rotation I agree with to keep it fresh but we have looked toothless in the final third for the past two games.

Aside from the Ndiaye chance (second excellent chance in 3 games that he has spunked) we created little in terms of proper chances and I put that down to the movement up front.
.
And yes I know Ndiaye is a quality player, yes the same about MGW. Both are head and shoulders above most in the division but they aren’t creating anything at the moment. Yes I know MGW is coming back from injury but we are coming into the business end of the season and that was a massive two points dropped tonight.

Not gonna start shitting my pants yet because realistically playoffs are our goal and we have enough to get in the top six. Plus other side will come to play football not to waste every second possible.

McBurnie? He made some good defensive headers. Well done lad.

Questioned before the game where the goals were going to come from without Sharp and Bogle.. and the answer was nowhere.

I miss Brewster 😭 (didn't think I would ever say that lol!)

I know.....let's play Sharp and Bogle, let em both burn out.... or even better, let them follow Brewster and McGoldrick to the physios room until the summer....

Good sense that

14 months ago said the commentator.

Take off the time though through injury and illness.

Rest one, then the other the next game rather than both?

Err I didn't say that they should be starting, just pointing out it's worrying about how limited our goal scoring options are right now...

McB getting some right players and dont get me wrong I'm not a fan...but what about Ndiaye...he had to score that one on one and he didn't

Maybe hands were forced?

All experts on a forum aren't we, but nobody realistic....

We found ourselves relegated because we were shit.... the team pretty much picks itself, because fringe players haven't been good enough.

Bogle has spent the last 2 games pretty much hobbling around. He's a key player.... hand forced, he's got a niggle or a knock... he needs a break.

Billy is Billy..... he would play every game if it was asked of him. But He's 36 and the only in form striker that we have. We have game after game in Feb.....but if he burns out we are fucked.

Would understand if we had a luxury squad, but we aren't that good! We aren't half as gifted as many think we are..... the brewster and McGdrick injuries prove this.

A bit of rotation. Fine.

But I can't help but think we've pissed away points these past few games by rotating too much.

It's not just about fitness. You need to actually be able to win games.

I've been pleased with Hecky so far. But it was a monumental fuck up not playing Sharp from the start especially with Bogle out.

Who scores in their absence?

Norwood and Hourihane don't. The centre halves don't, the wing backs don't. McBurnie doesn't.

Just who exactly was scoring in that team tonight? You've got Gibbs-White coming back from an injury lay off and N'Diaye who hasn't scored for a while.

It absolutely needed Billy in there. Hecky has hugely overestimated the squad's capabilities there. Likewise on Sat. It needed the control of a Norwood or Hourihane.

Without Billy or Bogle or Didzy, we were unable to go through the gears. Though you would expect McBurnie or N'Diaye to put away one of those chances.

I don't know in those passages of play tonight how Jebbison didn't get on. Ridiculous management to keep him on the bench in a game there for the taking.

At least results elsewhere went ok. We gain a point on QPR and Coventry are held back. If we catch games on others with a win that still puts us top 6.

I'd also add one thing. Let's not get into the habit of rotating too many too often. We will start playing people out of form.

Who scores when either ends up out long term?
