But don't you find that about many football fans, be they Wednesday, United, or some other supporters? They don't deal in facts - they haven't a clue about statistics (but they quote them all the time and make the most ridiculous assumptions based on them) - and they are full of superstition. It all makes for a very entertaining yet frustrating debate.
One example on this board last season - those fans who were clamouring for Matty Done to be in the team absolutely invented a fact to suit their argument. They said "we didn't lose when he was in the team" . They totally ignored the first few win-less games of the season in which he played every match.
It's a good game this. We can all do it. Think of something you want to believe is true - then make something up as if it's a stone wall fact - and you'll quickly have others agreeing with you.
I can't say I saw most posts on this topic, but weren't most people saying it was better to stick with Billy and Done upfront, so Billy could profit from Done's workrate, than with Billy and Clarke. Done wasn't upfront in any of those four games. Him going up top was a big part of the season's turn around, it seemed to me. Anyway, I do agree with your overall point!
