Our fans mostly come from Rotherham

Did some research on the subject of our supporters clubs (been asked to piece a handbook type thingy together for it) and yes there has been surprisingly quite a few SUSCs in Rotherham / North Notts areas ... Aston, Swallownest, North Anston, South Anston, Dinnington, Whiston, Catcliffe, Parkgate, Thurcroft, Harthill, Swinton, Worksop, Gainsborough, Retford.

While there's been some on the north side of Sheffield the majority over the years have been in the south east / south of the city ... Eckington, Beighton, Norfolk Park, Hackenthorpe, Killamarsh, Woodhouse, Coal Aston, Mosborough, Intake, Ridgeway, Woodseats, Handsworth.

Everyone I know who comes from Rotherham supports Wednesday!

It doesn't matter to me ( or most other Blades), where our fans come from.

The reason for the OP was the delusional group-think of a bunch of Wednesdayites who all nodded sagely to absolute garbage.

I assume being 'Massive' must start with being the biggestist masiveist fans in your own city. Only on NKT.....

When I worked as a service engineer covering the Rotherham area about 15 years ago, I was truly shocked by the number of houses I went too where the occupants were Blades. These were people from Rotherham, not Sheffielders who'd moved.

From an outsider, and an impartial person looking in who currently now lives in Sheffield. Wednesday fans I talk too seem absolutely clueless about which players, they have, or even some the manager they have and barely go to games.

They still have a daft superiority complex against Blades and despite never going to games, really do believe they get 30-40k a week...

Not just saying this because im posting on a Sheffield United forum but blades I talk too, all pretty much seem down to earth and level headed and someone you can discuss football with in detail in.

Who's your team, with a name like Seymour I presume Halifax town? :-)

And the most important point......the Three Tuns is open again, sells great beer and the landlord is a Blade. In fact he sits near me in the South Stand, is a proper old school landlord, did his training at Wards brewery, where you had to do everything from sweeping the floor to loading the trucks to learning the whole beer making process, before you ever got behind a bar.

As for the deluded pig fans, wouldn't expect anything less.

It refers to Stan Seymour :)
Im a Newcastle fan mate

You do know this is the board for the proper authentic ORIGINAL UNITED don't you?

Johnny come latelies from Newton Heath, DirtyLeeds, CheatinAmmers and Toon should doff their caps before they come in.

Welcome to this forum. I used to live in North Shields a few years ago. My brother is a die hard blade like me and lives in kibblesworth. My best mate who is also a blade lives in Newcastle. There's always been a fair contingent of Newcastle blades.

2-1 Ken is from Wickersley/Rotherham and for a bit of balance Mick the Rawmarsh Pig is from Rawmarsh/Rotherham

I was always under the impression that parkgate and rawmarsh were staunch blade areas . They were the Blades who invented the " greasy chip butty " song afterall ;)

As for other areas in the Rotherham catchment areas such as kiveton , North and South Anston, Dinnington , Swallonest , Aston etc etc theres some top Blades from those areas but when it comes to supping ale they're reight fuckin lightweights and tight fisted twats too :p

This is total BS, I used to live at Rotherham and the split was 75% Man U, Liverpool etc. Toy Town had about 10% the other 15% was plit between Blades and filth. Tot Town are not very loyal to their own.

Bumped into 2-1 Ken in the Three Horse Shoes in Wick

Only reason I knew it was him is cos I heard his voice which is unmistakable. Had a few words with him about the Blades. Seems a nice fella

like Wednesdays n got any sheffield fans , tango lives in west brom on radio sheffield theres texas owl and one from london and is it surprising as they only became Sheffield , Wednesday in 1928Lets not forget they moved out of Sheffield to owlerton a ward of Ecclesfield church which only joined sheffield in 1976

He is a nice fella B58,thats just how i discovered Ken,only it was H/T at back of Kop,he just got talking to us and i realised straight away it was Ken.
Next time you see him ask him to do you his Russ Abbot impression.

Originally being from Rotherham (hence the username), I can confirm that there are a lot of Blades - Swinton, Kilnhurst, Rawmarsh, Parkgate and Brinsworth probably being the biggest areas - apart from those in the half Rotherham, half Sheffield areas likes Swallownest, Aston etc.

There are a few Wednesdayites about too, sadly. Though you tend to find these more towards Barnsley or Doncaster (Mexborough for example).

I remember that amazing thread on Owlstalk when they were saying what areas of Sheffield were United and Wednesday. Basically we had S2 and they had everywhere else. Amazing how similar our crowds are when we are picking them up from such a small pool compared to them
