Best performance I’ve seen from him. Some lovely touches and interplay in and around the area. Some excellent runs off the shoulder as well. Just needs that goal and he’ll push on.

Despite the defensive mistakes today, the future remains bright with him, Jebbo and Ndiaye up top.

Then got hooked. I hope it was just because he was tired.

He missed some chances but Sharp has missed easier in the last few games.

We overpaid for him, but he’ll be fine and an asset for us moving forward. With him and Ndiaye both 21 (Ndiaye slightly older), there’s huge potential there IMHO.

Maybe so but he’s missed a couple of sitters and made some awful decisions tonight. Could have played Houriahane clean through to finish the game, but nope takes a hopeful pot shot that ends in row z.

Getting far better, still think he can have a good career somewhere, which looked impossible only a few months ago

Think everyone will be over the moon for the lad when he starts bagging regularly. There are clear signs of improvement

Not hard considering his usual useless performances.
However those 2 misses and not playing Hourihane in - unforgivable I'm afraid

Brewster played well at times but does need to start taking some of his chances. We looked far better with him on the pitch though. Ndiaye absolute quality again. Didzy should be released and Sharp kept for penalty shoot outs.

Really gutted he couldn't take his chances. It's clear to see he just wants it too badly and snatches at chances. He's got the technique, just needs to work on the mental aspect (he's still young and raw).
Should have stayed on the pitch tonight, taking him off was a mistake.

Sharp offers very little apart from pens, especially on his own up top. Mcgoldrick hardly impressed when taking brewster's place and had a massive part in preston's equaliser.

Leaving sharp and mcgoldrick on the pitch together let's the opposition defence push up. They know neither have the pace to hurt in behind.
Let's have sharp as an impact, last 10 sub now please. Club legend but clearly been on the decline for some time now.

Want to see more of him taking a shot in those positions as it’s a sign he is actually starting to have some confidence. There’s a player there clearly, he doesn’t hide, puts himself about and I think he’s not far away from getting us some goals.

He should have passed to Hourihane and then berated him when he inevitably shanked the shot.

He should have. But confidence is his issue and I’m encouraged seeing him having an early dig - his goals for Swansea often involved him pulling the trigger early. He’s got that in his game, just needs to get going.

Taking Brewster off on 70 seems logical considering he's not played much of late and has had a muscle injury. The problem is when Didzy has a quiet game he doesn't stretch teams and doesn't cause problems. I don't want to criticise Didzy because he's a favourite and has done so well, but seems he has one good game in three at the minute and Billy needs rotating more than present We desperately need more alternatives up top, but injury seems to have denied us this, or just a willingness to never play Mousset to get rid.

He did okay the injury hasnt done too much damage he is still definitely on an upward improvement lets just hope he continues to start as there is a glimmer of hope he can start scoring regularly. Reckon he would have scored if not brought down he was just about to pull the trigger and if you look the goalie had already started to dive.

I know this isn't part of the plan but you look at the lack of presence at times up top and you wonder whether it is worth waiting anymore and you just go with a front three of N'Diaye, Brewster and Jebbison.

I know we have hopefully Gibbs-White's return in the offing but I think these three would be useful.

The ironic thing is you'd expect Billy and Didzy to be brought on still in exactly the situation Didzy came in and him getting caught in possession is exactly the opposite you'd expect of a senior pro in the context of that game.

Brewster did far more than Sharp yet Billy stays on for 90mins WTF?

Didsy mark 2.
Another front man that can’t finish.

I'm not going to criticise him too hard, he did try tonight and he's recovering from injury.

But even with all that, he's still well below the standard of a Championship striker and at some point I hope we look beyond his transfer fee & wages so that we can objectively assess his age and career progress. If we dared do that, we'd probably send him down to JFH at Burton to get some mentorship and game time.

As much as I want RB to succeed, he’s really not doing himself any favours with his finishing in that second half. Preston should have been out of sight well before the debacle of their comeback. I’m all for sticking with him in the starting 11 though - this season is fucked so shape him for next year (hopefully we will still in the championship)
