The way it's going for McBurnie with fitness/covid, I'd be very tempted to bring back Jebbo or sign another forward on loan, someone who can win a header, cause some problems, take no crap etc. Andy Carroll type essentially. Not that Jebbo is like that yet, but he'll offer far more than what we've currently got off the bench.

Brewster wasn’t the problem today. Thought he played well before being unjustly hooked.
Had he taken his chances, especially the last one, we would have been 3-0 up and the match would have been over.
He is improving in his positional play though.

He should play every game. He's here for the next few years and nobody is coming in for him so let's try to get something from him. Any hopes of the play offs will be gone by next month so we need to start trying to build something for next season and playing those who will be here.

It’s possible or even likely at this rate that the more he plays the less he’ll be worth cos his goals to matches/minutes ratio could get even worse.
I was willing him to score but just ended up laughing at how crap he is when a chance comes his way.If he becomes half as good as Ndiaye I will be
pleasantly surprised.

Best performance I’ve seen from him. Some lovely touches and interplay in and around the area. Some excellent runs off the shoulder as well. Just needs that goal and he’ll push on.

Despite the defensive mistakes today, the future remains bright with him, Jebbo and Ndiaye up top.

UTB
I’m gunna be controversial!
Let’s make him our main target.
He is our future, sharp aint so let’s get a tune out of the raw talent who’s going nowhere out of the Lane anytime soon!

As much as I want RB to succeed, he’s really not doing himself any favours with his finishing in that second half. Preston should have been out of sight well before the debacle of their comeback. I’m all for sticking with him in the starting 11 though - this season is fucked so shape him for next year (hopefully we will still in the championship)
I think his finishing will improve, he needs plenty of the ball and he will grow!
I’m sorry but sharp doesn’t or no longer has the X factor.
With him it’s down and down.
Play the young ones

To be honest I don't think he's worth anything now. Nobody is going to pay a fee for him and give him the same wages.

He did ok but, being objective, it doesn't look that impressive:

  • He had 17 touches
  • He attempted 7 passes (4 of which were completed)
  • He had 4 shots (1 on target)

Not really the impact that we need. That said, I still think he's probably the best we've got, and I hope he'll come good.

He missed some chances but showed confidence to take the shot on and the technique when striking the ball was very good on all occasions just needed to adjust his sights. I’d rather have a striker missing chances like that than having fundamental issues like not striking the ball cleanly or leaning back on contact.

Missed two chances that should have finished off the game for good.

First one that he blazed it over I’ll give him some slack but the second one was utterly inexcusable. You can’t defend that. Pub team forwards would have put that away.

Still, I’d rather see him have a run of games playing down the middle over Sharp for the next few weeks.

Sharp is starting to look tired. On his day, he's still our most effective striker but he is 36. Regardless of how fit he looks, recovery will be taking longer and we're about to hit a stretch of a game every 3 days for the next 4/5 weeks.

We will need the full squad, so I'd give Brewster a go for the next couple of games and give Sharp some well earned rest.

We desperately need MGW to return soon. We're a shadow of the side without him.

17 touches isn't enough but tbf he was making them runs however we were f*cking about with it instead of crossing. I have no issue with Brewster, he wants to play, he wants to score, you can tell he's trying hard. Its the fat c*nt Mousset and Mcburnie we should be venting our frustrations towards. They're collecting their weekly wages and they couldn't give a f*ck about the club or the fans

He was lively enough, should have finished one of his chances.
Main grumble was he should have played Hourihane in instead of shooting from the edge of the area. Chance he wasn't aware Hourihane was free but I think he went for glory.

I watched the stream on Preston iFollow, was interesting to listen to. The expert/ co-commentator made a couple of comments:

- Billy and Brewster are the best partnership he’s seen in the championship for some years. He reckoned they’ve got a connection.

- he was wondering what Billy brings to Sheffield United before the game, but now he’s seen him he could see exactly what he does for the team.

- Wes Must be on massive wages because we’ve played in the prem and therefore he’ll be on huge wages.

The comments seemed strange and it was almost condescending to Preston, we’re a championship side as well, it was like we were playing a national league side trying to pull off a giant killing.

I do get what he means about the connection between Billy and Brewster, they seem to be on a similar wave length and Billy’s vision is at times excellent to see the runs of Brewster or Ndiaye.

But as a goal threat, we’re very inconsistent. I’ve said since we were in the championship last time around that we needed to be more clinical, that hasn’t changed.

But Billy has proved over the years that he’ll score a lot of goals, but needs plenty of chances to do so. Brewster needs to be the same. Get in the position to miss the chances and some will go in.

Good performance from Rhian, needs composure and luck but that was better from him, looked knackered at the end

I know what you mean though I've heard us being called a PL side by commentators (obviously not watched us) and the Derby commentators mentioned it a few times (was watching their feed as SUTV live was playing up) but then again they did call us Sheffield Wednesday a couple of times.

While he missed a few chances (and let's be honest, about a hundred less than Didzy has over the last few years) he did win us the penalty and get the man sent off.

He improves, for me, with every game. There was no actual game there when he signed. He just waited around upfront for the ball like a 5-aside game in a weekday league. His actual movement and all round game is improving but he needs to play.

Yeah let's just ignore him winning a pen and getting their man sent off in the process

People try to see the positives in brewster's play but let's be honest he's shite, if Burke had exactly the same game as brewster last night everyone on here would be laughing about how he's not a footballer etc

He won a penalty from the slightest of touches and the red card (imo) was harsh. He's performed better than recently I'll give you that. But still a long chalk away from anything close to his fee. He should've scored at least once.

Yet his impact on the game should have been more than enough to give us the win. We noticeably fell apart when him and Ndiaye went off.

Red-carded player had obviously not studied Brewster's finishing, or he would have just let him through so he could go on and miss. Brewster couldn't finish a sentence. As for football decision making, he has the brains of a rocking horse....

I agree, he should start and finish as many games as fitness and injuries allow.
It's all about next season now so we need to know whether he's up to it, he's done it before so we live in hope.
