I thought Brewster had a decent game Tuesday night sure he missed a couple of chances but Billy at the moment needs three chances before he puts one away. Brewster and Ndiaye are the only two players who can't really have a finger pointed at them for the Preston debacle. The kid is desperate to score goals you can see that so some of his decisions can be questioned like when he took on a shot which was very hopeful instead of putting a free Hourihane though on goal.

the lads finally looking more like a footballer
hes tracking back closing down and getting more into the box
just the finishing to work on, but must have the attributes somewhere to have been so highly thought of
took ched evans a while to become prolific for us seasons of 10 4 9 then 35 goals
if he can stay away from hotels in Rhyll we could yet see a decent striker playing for us

After a season and a half its patently obvious hes NOT up to it!!!!!! Where has he done it before?????? Its the hope that kills you.
Swansea? Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's up to it.
But...
Wilder shoved him straight into a struggling team against the best teams in the prem, He's not really had a sustained run since.
If I was Hecky I'd want to know definitely if he's an option for next season or a complete write off

Given length of time out thought Brewster looked sharp in the u23s a week or so back and agree with metalblade above on Preston

Pleasing thing is, he's actually getting chances and getting into the right position and looking a threat - this didn't really happen in his first year with us.

Still a work in progress...

Still to find his shooting boots, but hopefully a sustained run in the side, find some confidence and start to find the back of the net. We might start to see the player we thought we'd bought.

Its easy to see footballers as commodities, and evaluate in a black and white way - and easy to forget they are human and Brewster had a dreadful first year with us which will have an impact mentally.

Maybe so but he’s missed a couple of sitters and made some awful decisions tonight. Could have played Houriahane clean through to finish the game, but nope takes a hopeful pot shot that ends in row z.
Absolutely, why are footballers so thick? If Brewster had feigned to shoot and knocked it to Houriahane its 3-0, but no, he tries some hopeful shot as he’s closed down and crowded out. He passes, we score and everyone’s praising him for his ‘vision’ and selflessness. Houriahane misses and he’s shit, but what a ball from Brewster, he cant lose FFS.

Watched Leicester v Spurs, Harvey Barnes did exactly the same, 2-1 up, does well to create an opening for himself. Lookman’s stood all on his own and despite the fact Barnes is looking at him, as the last defender closes him down in the box, instead of squaring it, he tries to shoot and its blocked. Spurs win 3-2.

Thick as shit the lot of ‘em 😉

One minute he's "paid to score goals"
The next he "should've passed"

I'm keeping the faith in Brewster. There's obviously a player there, as his cv shows. England youth captain, his goal record at Swansea last season, was obviously rated by Liverpool seen as they bought him off Chelsea. I think he'll come good. I like the fact that at the kid has the confidence to have a pop at goal from 20yards out aswell. That's something we've been screaming out for for ages now imo. A player thats willing to have a go from distance and RB seem to do it a fair bit more than any other player. Just my opinion.

I agree with you I do think there is a player in there, and I do also quite like a player who isn't afraid to shoot from distance......but I kind of feel Brewster is taking these long range efforts on mainly because he's so desperate to score goals and it's like he's piling more pressure on himself. I'd say there is a difference between being confident enough to shoot from the edge of the box and shooting from the edge of the box confidently, if that makes sense?

I wasn't on the forum back when Billy Sharp had his first two spells with the club but I imagine it would have looked a lot like this one.

The lad clearly had talent and will come good. We just need to back him and show him we want him here.

I would stick with Brewdog.

Ndiaye, Brewster and MGW (when he returns) would do me fine for the rest of the season.

I need to go to SpecSave
cus i deffo don't see a player in Brewster
he's up there with Shrek as biggest bad buy

The simple answer is that he didn't see Hourihane, which speaks volumes for his footballing awareness

I was taught from a young age that when you play football, you always know what your going to do before you receive the ball. Like a cricketer, surveys the fielders so he knows where to play the ball, so a footballer should constantly be looking to see where his teammates and opposition are, for the same reason.

I’m afraid if Brewster didn’t know Houriahane was unmarked immediately to his left, if he’s ever going to make the grade he absolutely should have done ! 😤

Excellent 70 minutes from him today worked hard wasn’t afraid to shoot and gave as good as he got from defenders that really wanted to get right and physical with him. Got his reward in terms of the goal and the sending off.

Firmly in his fanclub now, he'll come good for us, he's got that confidence again. And I can admit I would've thought nothing of him leaving 3 months ago.

Great shift from him today. Got into some good positions. If he keeps putting the shifts in, he'll come good. Disappointed to see him get brought off but understandable.

I've been a harsh critic but much better today in terms of attitude and application. Still has brainfart moments (like when he ragged the shirt of their last man who he was about to feed dust to) but he's also tracked back, shown himself for the ball and enjoyed his tussles with their defence too.

Took his chance today too.

chuffed for Brewster, it was a great finish yes it taken longer than everyone hoped, but since Blackburn ive been noticing that its coming for brewster its just need that belief & needed that bit off rub off the green as sometimes it hust wouldnt fall for him, but solanke had similar issues he had time when he'd similar doubts with 5 goals in 1st 54 goals

now you have just got to forget about the price tag, put the fee to 1 side, judge on the here & now. because we expected too much & bought potential. Brewster, Jebbison & Ndiaye. is very exciting next season
