He is good. He will be great. And yes. You all need to get back to british crap football with kick and run. Thats all Sheff U are good at. How many failed passes did Berge have today? The rest of the feckin team can barely control a medicine ball. Your team sucks

Erm....fair points....well made.

Yeah, I agree, tough game was always on the cards. Nil nil would not have been a disgrace. Stick in the game and hope that we nick it with a bit of quality. I thought that our bench was better quality than theirs and that we could have nicked it via a substitution of quality, maybe Burke or Brewster providing a spark late on but I think our coaching staff blew it with the early subs and poor second half performance, showed their inexperience and inability to manage the team.
Maybe.

I got the feeling that as the Manager was at home laid up, the players thought they could take the piss. Bit like when the supply teacher took aclassat school.

I was bored first half (loads around me in the ground yawning), and we did the sum total of f*** all 2nd half - not one attempt on goal. I left with 5 minutes to go, and there were loads like me.

Abysmal performance today. Should be ashamed of themselves. The manager didn't deserve that on his sick bed

He's been here 2 years, and whatever he's apparently got, I'm not seeing it.

He's a Champions league player (or so we are told), and we were playing bottom of the league. He should be bossing games like that.

Needed 3 touches to do anything, no pace, no drive, no ambition. I think Genk got the best out of the deal by some margin. 😡😡😡😡😡😡
This point about being a Champions league player as something rare and good and special is ridiculous. There are hundreds / thousands of players who play Championship League who are nothing special. Playing in Belgium,Switzerland Denmark etc and in Championship League happens because it has to ,these players can be completley useless as we have seen with Berge

Yes we do, but Berge is a component part of our shit team. He’s also shit

Not just Sander at fault today. Was a team nose dive. If I performed as shit as that at work I'd not have a decent wage at the end of the week. Tuesday we win like Spartans ✊

There's a fatal flaw in your argument - he'll never get in a team who have class players.
I'm now of this opinion.

I've been saying for a while that he'll be a different player in a possession based team with quality players.

Trouble is none of those teams will touch him with a barge pole.

I was convinced we'd sell him for a profit to a very good team but I have to concede that I was wrong.

Pre season 2020 he looked a really good player scored too with a great goal. That's the last time I remember him being good. Now he looks scared to get involved in case he gets injured again. We need to see him playing couple of 90 min games to see whether he is improving at the moment he seems to be doing a Moose and not playing 90.

He needs to play in an advanced role. Strolling around at the back, no drive and ambition makes him look ineffective.

Put him in and around the final third and see him drive into the box and create opportunities.

I see it as a coaching opportunity as much as a player problem….although they’re not mutually exclusive.

Exactly. Like Phillip Billing at Bournmouth.

He's laughing at us and stealing a wage. He needs an encourmous kick up the arse and start earning his wage or he should be out the door. I think the fans have been more than patient with him - it's always one thing or another with him and he should be bossing things by now. He's like the bird you always fancied like mad when you was a young lad and you spent your week's wages on trying to impress her to get her in the sack, for weeks on end but she always had an excuse not to do the wriggle. It gets to the stage where its time for them to drop the knickers or fuck off, as far as I'm concerned.

This is the problem.

It's not obvious what his role is.

You may we'll be right but if you walk this through were concluding he should excel in a role he's never really played. Likewise when Wilder bought him, he wanted him to play box to box, which also wasn't how he was played.

Apart from the very top teams where he could keep things ticking over for better, more creative players I'm not sure how he makes his mark to achieve that unless he really pulls his socks up.

Problem is also that at a whopping 22m nobody is prepared yet to admit they made a mistake in signing him, because it will adversely affect his value.

I only bothered watching today to watch Berge.
He's pretty much wasted when no one is making runs.. Every time he received the ball he was heads up looking for a forward pass, and no cunt was available, because they couldn't be arsed.
I agree we should move him on, because we don't have the vision to utilise him.
It may work if he can have an extended run with Flecky besides him.. I wouldn't bother otherwise.

How anyone has seen Quality, potential in him needs a trip to speck savers. Has no passion, fight, ability to unlock a defence never runs just walks around the pitch get rid of him now for what we can get because come end of season he’ll be worth nothing
Played like he didnt give a fuck..sell

I still think there's a player in there but we all need to remember the infamous Roy Keane comments (whether you think he's a tosser or not he's right on this point).

"You can have all the talent in the world but it counts for nothing without hunger, work rate, desire, and passion" or something like that he said.

Football is not that different from many jobs, we've all worked with people who are not necessarily good at their jobs but succeed due to their hard working nature.

Even if Berge continues to under deliver, if fans felt he was putting in a decent shift he'd avoid much of the negativity surrounding him.

We gave him a great welcome when he arrived but the reality is he just hasn't delivered.

He might as well have not played yesterday. Not a huge Norwood fan boy, but at least he got on the ball and played some excellent passes out.

Agree with this. He’s a good footballer but playing in this team does not suit him at all.

I think he’d look a lot better in a possession-based system with creative players in front of him. Not suggesting he’s the same level at all but he’s similar to Rodri at Man City. Imagine putting him in our team, you’d get the same result.

He’d also be better off playing with a midfielder who is there purely to do the dirty work. We don’t have that player.

In the summer I wanted us to keep him because I thought he’d be a stand out player in this division but it hasn’t happened. I’m at the point now where I wouldn’t be bothered if someone came in for him.

I can’t imagine he’s too happy with the situation either.

There is no market for an under performing Sander.... my main concern yesterday was getting turned over by players seemingly half his size. Don’t doubt that a good side would get a tune out of him, even the likes of Fulham, however , we aren’t a good side.
If we get an offer then we should accept, failing that persevere and play him week in week out and see what happens.
Didn’t really get the formation yesterday and neither did Berge....that really doesn’t help anyone...⚔️

I'm praying that someone is daft enough to offer us a half decent fee so that we can move him on and close this sorry chapter. He will hopefully be joined with a good few others who couldn't give a toss for the shirt, in the summer. Big clear out needed and fresh younger players who are hungry want to prove themselves are needed.

Problem is that in the past we have recruited very badly, and when we asked the likes of Moose whether he was up for the challenge and hungry, we didn't realise that what he actually meant was that he was really hungry and up for taking over from Adam or Casey in the next Man versus Food series.

Hopefully, a European club will come in for him

I think what Sander needs to realise (and pretty bloody quick whether it's with us or elsewhere) is that those 'classy' type midfielders who lie deep and keep everything ticking and just glide about everywhere (I s'pose Rodri, Busquets, even Michael Carrick or Gordon Cowans then Coutts at the Lane) actually work fucking hard.

They look like they have time and are floating about, but that's because they put the graft and yards in to collect it in space. They look classy, rather than just trying to look classy. If he shows some intent on the park and in his career, he could well play for a top club. Carry on like he is doing and he'll be back in the Belgian league.
