I personally think there'll be very little movement in Jan with signings limited to just a CB/RCB (Souttar is able to play both positions). I suspect there'll be more outgoings - Verrips (as reported this pm), Slater and hopefully one or two of the deadwood (Mousset being top of the preferred list) although I doubt there'll be much/any interest in most.

Summer is likely to be far busier - I suspect the starting eleven in Aug will look somewhat different to the current one.

Funny you should ask that because the company I work for was bought out in July, I duly signed my new contract with the promise of a 1% bonus but as yet, I didn't receive it. I escalated this to my Manager again last Friday, and he is currently working with HR in order to seek a resolution

Not sure we have companies in Aberdeen or Mertyhr. Having said that, depending how much the pay cut was, Aberdeen would definitely be somewhere I'd consider

I tend to agree. Bash has been and still is one of, if not the fittest at the club. He can go on for a few year. He's miles off letting the side down.

Bash wasn't in the picture in a four under Slav. He may have played second most minutes but he hasn't played a high percentage of his minutes available. Robinson was inexplicably preferred by Slav initially and then Davies in a four.

Stevens will be less because he was injured, but has played every game he has been fit for. Only reason Baldock hasn't player more is that he got injured though Bogle is now showing he may keep the spot.

Not really? So your contract should be observed, but the club somehow ignores players contracts, to get rid of them, perhaps you could explain how that works ? Short of paying them up in full including any and all bonus payments from goals scored, appearances of promotion bonuses, and after you have solved that, perhaps you could then explain how the club then attracts and signs new players

I'm not a footballer, I don't have an agent, my contract isn't all that exciting truth be told. There is a non compete in there but I doubt very much it would be enforceable. As to footballers contracts well come on, clubs break them, players break them, it's like some parallel world they operate in. I don't get all twisted out of shape about stuff like that, if the club wants them out they'll be out, if the player wants to go he'll be gone. That's how it goes.

Do you honestly think if we get an offer for a player we'll force him to stay because he has a contract? Yeah, sure we will, because we've always received loyalty from contracted players and we've never sacked anyone off because the price was right. It's not real, it's a plastic industry full of plastic participants.

This is nothing to do with agents or forcing players to stay, it's about your comments regarding getting rid and moving players on, they are all under contract 'we' simply can't get rid, unless 'we' choose to pay them up in full, or receive an offer that we and the player find acceptable, which as those players you have previously listed haven't performed anything like we and they hoped, will mean either a shorter contract elsewhere or a pay cut.

The only other alternative is a loan move, something the player will again have a choice in.

The lads on Bladespod made a good point a few episodes ago when they were assessing this squad against our squad that went up in 2019.

The conclusion, more or less, was that the last squad had better balance. We don't have any Martin Craine, Richard Stearman types. Who you're confident can step in at a moment's notice at centre half and not let us down.

If you consider MGW as more of a forward then you' struggle to see where our creative outlet is in our midfield options.
That team had Mark Duffy and Kieran Dowell (who, though not great, could play multiple positions) ready to help out.

We're clearly top heavy at the top of the pitch. We have poor, expensive players in McBurnie, Mousset & Burke (and arguably Brewster - though he was showing glimmers pre-injury). Clearly, we need to offload at least 2 of those 3 players.
However, the 2019 striking options all gave us something different. McGoldrick the link man. Sharp the bustling hold up merchant who was good for a goal. Madine an effective target man who was physical and good in the air. Hogan could run the channels and would finish off chances.

The squad needs a revamp with the above in mind in the Summer. Hopefully there's some money found to do it (though I doubt this). For now, we need some cover at centre half & midfield.
