He's bounced around a bit over the last few years. I'm surprised he hasn't stayed and succeed at one club since.

Pun intended.

Still gutted about his 'departure' and that he didn't get to play for us at the level his (& his teammates) great footballing displays had achieved.
Thank you for that awesome journey to the Prem'
Good Luck & All The Best to you, Duff's 👍👍

I for 1 will cheer the roof off the stand on the day of your return to BDTBL 👏👏👏👏

I don't really know the full reason for his departure, just heard various stories, but either way, he will always be a legend for that one goal at the Sty. He silenced the bouncing pigs and then ran behind the goal, goading them and patting his United badge on his chest while mouthing the F-word. For that, he will always be a hero to the Bramall Lane faithful.

I can never understand why he never seems to settle in one club, and at 36, I would have thought he could still do a job for League 2 club, maybe even League 1?

Anyway, good luck to the lad.

Been to Forest lots and lots of times to watch The Blades - had mixed results-

But my all time favourite was we unluckily lost 2-1. But we actually trounced them.

The midfield was Coutts Fleck and Duffy-

Duffy was literally unplayable he absolutely ran the show- he was leaving players dumped on the floor- he was knocking superb balls through - he was dribbling past players like they were statues - I've been to 100's of games but that day he was as they say wort double the entrance fee on his own.

Duffy was a fantastic gifted footballer for us. Not as good as Currie but F*** me I loved watching him, he did things that made you smile..

I really wish he'd never left.

I think we got shot ( oh no that'll set him off) of Duffy at exactly the right time to be honest and I loved him.

The 'flat three' got us to 9th in the premier league and anyone seriously saying Duffy could have done a job in the premier league last year when he's struggling in the lower leagues is off their head.

Love him n'all, but unfairly treated and great attitude?
Depends who you listen to and what you want to believe.

Duffy asked for minutes. Wilder told him he was the gaffer and if he didn't like it he could go.

Or....

Duffy TOLD Wilder he wanted more minutes....

Like I say, depends on who you listen to. But considering the way Wilder left, I know what I lean toward. Wilder has left a sour taste for a few folk.

Whatever was said behind the scenes on the pitch where it matters was shown to be the right choice.

Im inclined to agree with that. I don't think Duffy would have been much good in the PL, and I'm also aware there's no room, if any, for sentiment.

But it would have been good to see Duffy get some minutes, even as a sub in the last game.

Deserved better in my opinion.

As much as I like Wilder I don't think Duffy deserved being bombed out in such a way.

Wasn't he asking for a new deal potentially and Wilder said we are looking at new players not new deals or something?

Have to say when L.Freeman joined I thought we had basically signed a younger more talented version of Duffy too so I did wonder if this was why. However we didn't really play that no.10 role in the PL.

Had Duffy stayed, it would have been really interesting to see how he would have done in that role if we ever decided to do it. There's no doubt in my mind Duffy suited that position uniquely well and as an attacking outfit we looked v.good at Champ level when at full tilt so to say.

Never happened and we did have a good first season so we will never know.

Like the new deal that Leon Clarke was given, how many goals did he score for us after that ?

Both great players, and legends in their time.
