Mate chill, it's just low level banter. I'm not even bothered.
no worries, it is always the issue with the internet you cant sense tone. but whereas ill applaud him pre match but not during

it does annoy me that we turn 3 best managers of the last 30yrs, into hate figures

The trick is to take nothing seriously 😂

No matter how successful a manager or player was at his previous club, that attachment ends when they leave to join another team. They were employees and got well rewarded,i for one am always very reluctant to applaud past players and certainly not previous managers, particularly those who left us in the shit because of there own shortcomings. There will be no welcome back for Wilder from me and i hope we make him feel particulary uncomfortable on Saturday.

Think it would be a nice idea to show Chris the respect and thanks he never got

It Would be nice if as a club we could get a rendition of he’s one of our own going on the 20 minute mark

He’s the best manager we ever had we should show him the respect he deserves 😀
Yeah we could do that. Conversely we could just loudly support Sheffield United for the whole game. What with them being the team we support an all.

I'll be singing on saturday front row of the kop , and ill be booing the prince if I see him

I’m all up for a statue of the man but he’s the opposition manager, why on earth would we sing his name ?

I had some good times when Wilder was manager, but also had good times when others were manager (perversely for some, particularly when Colin was manager, because of the awfulness of before and after his tenure). People talk like the Blades never knew about or saw decent football until Wilder showed up, but I recall some good stuff under Wilson, he was just derailed by Chedgate. Obviously Harris was a good manager and there was success, and although Basset got us into, and kept us in the top flight, some people more in the know than me (I didn't go then), feel his football was a bit "basic".
The oddest thing about Wilder is that he's left a sour taste in the mouth for loads of us. This seems to be about his reputation for being "one of us", something many of us bought into, seemed quite unique, and brought about a warm fuzzy feeling when things were going well. Wilder cultivated this "front" of being different to any other managers United had employed in the past, and many of us got swept up in the success and the "Sheffieldness" of it all.
As things have turned out, he's just like any other football manager. He's rich, driven, and likes his own way. He really isn't "one of us", and spends his time getting paid money which most of us only dream of, for doing a job, which may involve getting cold and wet at times. In turn we actually pay money to get cold and wet. Wilder is just Wilder, a bloke who happens to be a football manager. He's not "different and special", he's actually just like all the others, but because we engaged with his self-belief, we thought he was, and that he really was "one of us". Finding out that he wasn't, and isn't, together with the chaotic nature of his leaving, has perhaps left some people feeling conned and let down, having put everything into believing he could achieve what others couldn't.
He didn't and won't. Just let it go.

I'll clap him before and after the game, there's no way I'll sing Chrissy Wilder and Alan Knilly though, not a chance. Not because I don't like him now but he's gone, and until we have his side of the story I'll refrain from criticism of how he left but at the same time from excessive praise until we know why he left, if that makes sense. We have an idea, but definitely more meat on the bone needed, from the players perspective too. I do so struggle to accept why he left the club that we all would have loved to have played for but he obviously had his reasons.

If he does a Warnock ala Cardiff at the end if they win I might have a slight change of attitude in terms of that clap!

why is this an issue every manager does this Man utd only stopped paying David moyes in 2019. slavisa jokanovic had his contract paid up, so david weir & Nigel Adkins. why should wilder who had a contract til 2024 say no thanks
Surely the point about all the other managers you identify is that they were sacked and therefore due their contractual rights. Wilder wasn't sacked, he walked. It was his choice and therefore contractually he was due nothing as he had, in effect, broken his contract.

we all know from the wages fiasco, that prince doesnt like spending any money he doesnt have to. especially to man where dislike was clear on both sides. so he wouldnt have paid unless he had to

He'd tell you you had the wrong user name, and call you a cunt.
Wrong not exactly pal I've had a right but if friendly banter. I've not called anyone a cunt. I think whatever you put on here some thick twat will take piss.
