It's cases In the Hull team as well, so that's our game knackered..

2hours before kick off! Blackburn fans then should be compensated there travelling expenses. Bastard's!
100% Hull should refund the travelling Rovers fans. It is getting crazy now with how late games are being postponed and the wasteful journeys away fans are having.

Yep. There’s no consistency. We’re seeing games called off days in advanced and others when the ground is starting to open.
Daily PCR so if they had tests at 9/10 this morning bought reight then with results to get back

Quick lateral flow yesterday evening and if they came back negative then that’s the cut-off point for the game to go ahead. No need to do another test this morning. 🤷‍♂️

Needs to be some proper protocol put in place like the above because at the minute it seems like it’s a free for all. It’s not going to go away anytime soon either.

I had some sympathy with the League at first but we’ve had 3 weeks of this now and it’s time for some kind of action beyond “see what happens”.

As it stands fans can turn up at the ground without knowing whether the game will go ahead or not.

Either go for a 2 week break or start dishing out punishment to clubs who “can’t field a side”.

Complete hearsay, but someone on the socials reckons Hull cancelled their hotel in Sheffield before they pulled out of the game today.

I agree on the late postponements but as for teams not fielding a side...there's been 70% of the whole EPL/EFL who did not play today so a large number who can't field a side!

The 2 week break is pointless as when teams come back they will still be cases. They are still mixing with their families and kids go back to school next week too. Unless they go back to bubbles and lock it down for players properly then teams will be postponing games for the forseeable.

I dont get this notion that some people think this will just 'die out' in a few weeks? It might peak and numbers may decline but it is still going to be here.

As sjl says it has not really hit us yet as we squad. Maybe we've been better with how we have handled protocols or as likely been lucky ..but reality is in next few weeks we will probably have to postpone at some point too if/when it hits our squad as we see how quickly it spreads.

Wonder if our fan base will say gerron wi it if we have 10-12 1st team players missing?

They should have a cut off point on the tests. Say 6 or 8 hours before the kick off.
Why are teams testing players 2 hours before kick off?
I do agree totally with this. A club/league cannot postpone a few hours before ko.

I would guess though tests were done yesterday or this morning and results only came back late this morning. To me a club plays with what they have if the game was going ahead after a cut off..say 9am so yes they may have to pull players after this bit still have to play. Trouble is this new EFL rule means clubs can just say they have not got enough to play. Injuries are the complicating factor as without a doctors report who is independent, then how do they prove it?

I just don’t see how the current situation is sustainable. Maybe a well timed break will see us past the current peak Nobody really knows if the games are going ahead at the moment. There will be plenty of Blackburn fans out of pocket for their trip to Hull today.

Also whilst clubs are avoiding playing fixtures at a disadvantage by having a depleted squad they (and others) are only going to end up with a fixture pile up at the end of the season that will distort the competition.

Is there also an argument for incentivising clubs and individual players to manage the Covid situation better? I don’t know the answer to this.

For what it’s worth I’d be of the same opinion if it was us having to cancel fixtures.

A bit of clarity would be nice as it’s a farce at the moment.

I get the feeling it’s just landed in our region now. I tested positive on the 23rd and from understanding the wife’s Facebook feedback, in the last week or so, a lot of her friends have. This isn’t about teams dodging games, it’s about a wave passing through, and no one will avoid it. We are no different to anyone else, and if we think that Preston and QPR dodged us on form 😂😂😂😂😂.

Wave passing through is nonsense, covid is all over the place there is no wave. 🤣 🤣 🤣

What you have to ask yourself is Sheffield United players have been ok so far, touch wood, does that mean the Blades have better protocols in place and the rest of the teams dont ?

I`d put bets on Boro game is off.

Only way we can see fixtures going ahead is if they put teams in their own bubble but this aint going to happen.

Apparently its 17 players positive according to twitter. 17, what the heck were they doing ?

My son got Covid from school over a week ago luckily tested negative 3 days before Christmas, rest of our family tested every day never got it.
Other son not vaccinated never got it.

Almost like they wanted to celebrate some holiday or other and have the time off.

you’re right pal, these teams are running scared, and there’s no wave, yours right it’s everywhere. How’d you put teams in a bubble when they’re playing other teams full of invisible covid, not today but maybe tomorrow, then back on a bus to spread a little bit of it…then it’s game on or off? I’m not having a pop, but look at todays fixture list in the EFL, surely they’re not all dodging the games?
