PNE - match cancelled

All advertisments are hidden for logged in members, why not log in/register?

On the plus side rail travel will be available for the game.

On the minus, other than missing out on the match Boxing Day you can guarantee the rearranged day/time will be shite.

More postponed than cancelled I hope. Understandable PNE would be a little apprehensive about facing the Fulham slayers.

I'm waiting for Hull to cancel now seeing as their manager is isolating with Covid

It also gives us a chance to "blend" some of the U23s into the 1st team setup, are any others ready to make the jump. Naturally we could try them in the one guaranteed no context game away at Wolves but we could save a few quid if we can get one or two known to the first team if ready.
The only ones anywhere remotely close to making the jump are out on loan. None of the others are.

Lowest league in Europe in terms of jab %. I am all for personal choice but there now needs to be some form of consequence. Fine if you don’t want a jab but no pay for 2 weeks if you catch covid. It’s an entertainment business and one where you get paid handsomely for doing it. Time to just balance the equation for me. Totally respect choice on jabs to be clear, but when you cost others financially then you have to be prepared to take the consequence. We all know jabs don’t stop you getting it but they do hugely reduce your chances of getting it. No other country is suffering sport cancellations due to player choice like we are and the championship is the lowest of the lot.
What's a jab gonna do? It's not a cure for covid.

You can still catch and spread it. So regardless of being jabbed or not, matches are going to be cancelled the same due to positive tests. The jab stops you from getting serious complications if your immune system can't fight it on its own. It doesn't make you not get covid.

So saying dock them 2 weeks pay? Eh? It's not their fault if they CAUGHT covid.

If they keep losing matches to COVID they will have no option other than to extend the season

Perhaps they should allow you to take your pint to your seat also, like just about every other venue these days.

Preston have a lengthy injury list I notice, Ched is one of them. Always sceptical when matches are called off for covid when they have injured players but I presume that there has to be proof of having less than 14 players. As others have pointed out, on Wikipedia they have 45 players to their first team squad, 7 of them look to be academy players, that still leaves 38! Think there was 7 players injured from the list from their local paper, so that still leaves 31 players! Meaning that they have 17 players isolotating with covid, but Lowe says 5 or six. Something doesn't add up here!

You are 76% less likely to catch it. ( fact )

So if you choose not to take it which is your right you by default increase the odds of catching it.

Not difficult to work out for most people.

I am 100% against mandatory jabs by the way but I am also 100% behind there being a consequence of your actions.

If you do everything you can not to catch it then good on you. If you choose to play a different game then take the consequence.

2 weeks would be the minimum for me but that’s just my opinion.

Utd are not going to end up having to play 4 games in space of 8 days like the Millers had to last season with matches they had postponed thanks to the COVID bug. There's the QPR home game, PNE away now to be re-arranged and their is bound to be more games called off in the next months or so with this COVID bug
There may be a blank date if we get knocked out of the FA cup

So they want you to wear a muzzle for three hours 🤔
The guidance says mask must be worn on the inside areas - concourses, toilets etc I assume. May not be obligatory when in the outside areas, namely the seats. Mind you many fans seem to spend about half of the match down on the concourse for one reason or another.

Only 59% of EFL players vaccinated! Or to put it another way 41% unvaccinated. That is outrageously low. The FFL and clubs should have been tackling this problem months ago. These figures are way below those for rest of population. I know you can’t force people to be vaccinated but you can take steps to encourage players and try and deal with objections etc..
It is highly suspicious that Ryan Lowe doesn’t know how many players have COVID. What proof do the EFL require? Does look like they are using covid to cancel matches when they have injuries to key players. Also looks like the 14 player rule quoted in the article is not being enforced.

I'm sorry but what a fuckabout to see a football match.

I'll give this a miss.

Personally I feel its a disgrace that this game is not going ahead, its just an excuse to get out of a game they don't fancy imo. There is now way they can't get 11 players on the pitch absolute load of bollocks.

They should have to publish a list of every player out with covid to justify why the games been called off but I'm guessing some GDPR bollocks will be the excuse.

Also unvacinated players who have to self isolate due to contact without actually having covid should not count in the numbers for match postponements
