Not if he never plays, and he’s starting to look like the next Ricky Holmes, or one of the other players CW mysteriously freezes out having taken considerable trouble to acquire them.Burke suits our style of play far more than Callum Robinson.
It was a good swap.
Absolutely nailed on. And Burke won’t play.Unfortunately think he will score next week
He was embarrassingly bad for us. We asked him to play back to goal at times and he looked like he'd never played football before. Could not learn when and where to press to the point others were literally shouting and pointing where he should beI thought he was just shit. And nesh as fuck.
Fair enoughHe bad
Wilder had said his original plan was "2 number 10's". Basically 523. But then Lundstram did so well in the 'flat 3' it never happened. He coincided with Luke Freeman as two players that we bought seemingly with no idea how we were going to use them.
More money down the toilet and even worse than that, we ended up trading Robinson for a bloke who can run fast and cosplays Keanu Reeves on his days off.
Even if the plan was 5-2-2-1 with two "number 10s" I don't really understand what the plan was with bringing Robinson in given that he's only ever been effective as a wide forward. Wilder's approach seemed to me the same as my father-in-law and his cars: "that's a great deal"...but he doesn't need a Discovery 4 to cruise the mean streets of S61, just like Wilder didn't need to bring in a wide forward.Wilder had said his original plan was "2 number 10's". I never understood why we didn't work on it as an alternative formation though?
If you want me to say he only signed him because he played well against us, just like Freeman, McBurnie etc I will......Even if the plan was 5-2-2-1 with two "number 10s" I don't really understand what the plan was with bringing Robinson in given that he's only ever been effective as a wide forward. A "Paul Shaw" signing if ever I did see one.If you want me to say he only signed him because he played well against us, just like Freeman, McBurnie etc I will......
Just don't want to get attacked by the 'Firm'
sticks another pin in the Lundstram voodoo dollWilder had said his original plan was "2 number 10's". Basically 523. But then Lundstram did so well in the 'flat 3' it never happened.

This thread prompted me to watch the highlights back of that comeback against Chelsea, in which he scored the first.
If you want to see a prime example of not knowing where to be, or who to press - Jesus, look at us for the first goal and look at McBurnie - well out of position, strolling and not busting a bollock to get anywhere.
Not only that, but we've seen that his justification could never be "well I was hanging back for the team, in case of the counter" cos he never does that either. Pure ball watching and no positional awareness.
The right move, if he wasn’t going to use Robinson, was ask for cash in full from WBA and not take Burke, who is a terrible player.Decent player at this level. Already got a handful of goals and a handful of assists.
Better stats than any of our players except for Billy who plays CF.
He was hideous as a centre forward, but he isn't one - so I can't really blame him for that. As others have said, he is effective as a wide forward. When he picks the ball up and has space to operate in in front of him he can hurt teams. He had none of that here.
If I knew we were coming down I'd have never switched him for Burke. But genuinely, given where we were at it was the right move. Burke, in the system we were playing in the Prem, offered more than Robinson could have.
Bizarre to sign him in the premier league. Championship quality player.Bizarre to move him on after such a short spell should have had more of a chance
Given West Brom had just been promoted I never really got the desire to entertain a swap from them. The right move, if he wasn’t going to use Robinson, was ask for cash in full from WBA and not take Burke, who is a terrible player.
He was an odd signing and was always unlikely to fit into CW's 3-5-2 formation - probably just another case of buying the top talent in the Champ regardless of how and where they play. He never convinced as a central striker, struggled playing with his back to goal and only ever looked a threat when he either drifted wide (to his more natural position) or on the very odd occasions that he got in behind the defence.
He would however have been better suited to SJ preferred formation/s and style of play.
Nice to see him come across to applaud us at the end today
Didn't quite work out for him but will always remember his impact in the Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge![]()
