MANAGER SACKED

The bloke has just been sacked by Spurs. Common sense tells you he’s out of our price range. Everything was laid out for him at Wolves in terms of the players he could bring in. He wont have that here.

We had a chat with Slav. I think its fair to assume we’ve painted a very rosy picture for him and if he’d have realised the reality back then he wouldnt have taken the job. If the Prince keeps doing that, no one will want to work for him or we’ll end up in financial shit creek.

Possibly but if he's willing to have a chat why would we be stupid for doing so? It's not like it will cost us anything. You're making a lot of assumptions about things that you could be very wrong about.

I can't help but think this is more likely to be down to broken promises than performance. Which doesn't bode well at all. Slav fot stiffed in summer and I presume there is no money for January.

It's just groundhog day

20/21

CW: Boss, the team needs a complete and immediate refresh, they've all peaked

PA: You've already spent the entire budget

CW: Then there's no more I can do. I want out

21/22

SJ: Boss, the team needs a complete and immediate refresh, they've all peaked

PA: The previous manager already spent the entire budget

SJ: Then there's no more I can do. I want out

Rinse and repeat. We need a new owner with a bag full of cash. It's the only way out of this cycle

Dont think I’m wrong about the fact we havent got any money for transfers but are now paying off two handsome contracts of former managers.

The issue here is clearly financial. Its absolutely bonkers to think we’d be anywhere remotely close to meeting Nuno’s demands.

Theres probably no harm in asking Pep or Klopp if they want to talk either but it’s equally as bonkers to think they would be remotely interested.

Interested to see who comes next.

I was looking forward to Slavball, but 20 games in and it's all a bit Meh. Partly sorry to see him go, but it hasn't really happened for him, and we will be treading yet more water until the end of January when getting in the play offs could be a remote possibility. Foolishly top 6 was my minimum expectation at the start of the season. Bit big bollox maybe, but as a former EPL team well funded and with no financial legacy from COVID, I'd expect us to be competing. I thought we should judge him at the end of October, and we are well past that date. The football is dull and uninspiring, and a long way from being called entertainment.

I'm not disappointed he's leaving tbh. Shame, but there we are.

I was weighing up whether or not to attend on Sunday, as it's really boring ATM. Definitely coming along if there's a change at the helm. Hopefully the players will give a flying f**k as well for once.

These journalists who fight to get the breaking news out first, these journalists yeah? So instead of getting the news out and getting hits for the station/paper they tell you a podcaster instead, and then tell you to keep it quite? Yeah ok mate.
It’s up to Yorkie who he tells not you. If he blabs everything he’s told he won’t be told anything again. Yeah he’s got more loyalty to his journalist mates who he knows, than some faceless wonder, who posts on this forum, who he’s never met. Yorkie’s given us some juicy tidbits over the months I trust him to decide what he can and can’t tell us.

Was it though? Do we really need a manager who comes out after every game beating his chest and sucking us off in interviews after the game.

We were never going to get that from Slav but as far as I can tell he was the best manager we could have got at the time. I think his biggest problem was being lied to about who he could bring in and how much time he was going to get in the job.
I can't disagree with any of that, I didn't want him sacked, as say despite his shortcomings he was the right choice

dont get this obsession about us needing to spend millions to play football
we got up last time on peanuts

now weve been in the prem we suddenly need 10 to 20m pound players.... nah
done that didnt work

We are a joke of a club. We get a manager with a proven promotion record, give him no money, then sack him after a crucial victory. It's obviously down to no funding for players in January (and Slav being sold a dummy).

Then to compound matters, we appoint a L1 manager (Hecky- let's be honest, that's what he is). We are fresh out of the PL, FFS - we can do better than the likes of Hecky and Warne.

I’m outside the Lane now, organising hordes of people into a queue depending on the size of their bags of cash. Fucking loads of em l tell yer ……..

Tbh, his biggest issue in terms of connection with the fans was that I never really gleaned anything from his interviews. I suppose thats not really an issue as long as we see improvement on the pitch, unfortunately we didnt.

You are wrong, we won't be paying Wilder off anymore. And you've no idea what is in SJ's contract in terms of pay-off clauses.

It might be bonkers, personally I don't even think it's true, but it won't cost us anything to ask and it isn't stupid to try and aim for the very best.

Back then sack. Always get the impression from his interviews he'd been promised shit that wasn't delivered.

Followed by crack….

….which really needs doing because supporting this club is one massive bunch of dangleberries at times.

Someone like Slav doesn't join a club that promises him 4 loans only for summer transfer business. As has been outlined above, God knows how the Jan transfer window discussions went. Quickly, I imagine...

So your assumptions are right and mine are completely wrong? Okay then. You win. Cant argue with that.

A handful of loan signings and expected to work miracles. Surprised he didn't walk after the transfer window.

This club is a fucking joke. Does PA still speak to McCabe or something? This the exact kind of bullshit McCabe would do.

That's not what I'm saying so don't be pissy. I'm not making any asusmptions, I know full well I have no idea about the ins and outs of this. You seem to think it's a stupid idea for us to aim for the very best, I disagree.
