Dunno but I have a feeling it's gonna happen and that Lee hughes will put Wendy to the sword too to make my after match pint in Chester taste splendid

We won 9 in a row in our promotion season didn't we? Not sure if that was from the first game though.

The last time we won the first 4 league games in a row was 1971-72 season, which was our first season back in the top league after 3 seasons in the second tier. We actually didn't lose for the first 10 games, with 8 wins and 2 draws, before a visit to Old Trafford put paid to that! We finished 9th that season.

We did win 9 in a row, however that was from the 4th game onwards. We won the first 2 games and lost the 3rd away at QPR before going 9 unbeaten and then losing at Reading!

I've recently discovered a very good stats site which i'm using to catalogue my programme collection, so thought i'd look up the details! :)

What piss's me off is they always show that Man Ure game in 1971 when there's a tribute to George Best or Man Ure. I think we lost 2 nowt with Best and Gowling scoring. It's mentioned in another thread.

according to charlie webster(the tottie who writes in the star)reckons it was 1983 since we won 3 league games from the outset.

That season we won 8 league games in a row, but 10 games in a row in all competitions if you count the two league cup wins - one being a penalty shootout win against Shrewsbury.

2005/06. The most enjoyable season i've had watching the Blades

And I think the full back had gone off injured so the 'defender' Best skinned was (I think) outside left Gil Reece.

As I remember that Man U game it was midweek and on sportsnight? with the presenter drooling about Best.

>And I think the full back had gone off injured
indeed.. ted hemsley had gone off injured.. gil being an outside left was naive enough to let him go inside.. he'd have never got past TH
