I have never been a fan of the old mantra "take a season or two to rebuild and come back stronger" namely cos its what my Dad told me in 94 to console me and that didn't turn out very well.

However, under these set of circumstances I feel we have no choice but to settle more mid table this season, with anything higher a bonus.

• Transition from a popular legacy manager embedded in the entire club
• Spunked the PL money on dross
• Lopsided ageing squad on the decline
• Psychologically traumatised players with losing mindset

Amongst other things. Slav needs two seasons at least to overhaul this ship wreck and I'm all for a slow rise from the ashes better than the last time we went up. HRH doesn't get a manager in like Jokanovic for instant results. And if he has he's badly mis hired. Next close season we'll have a number of players off the books and a proper opportunity for the club to rebalance and improve the squad. Let's hope the club give him the tools to do so.

We definitely need a pacy winger and a stronger midfield with creativity its going to be a real struggle
It’s very tight after the top 3 sides much of a muchness, I haven’t actually seen a decent side yet, all very fit and organised but nothing special
Sides we were beating easily in the promotion season

You missed a striker who can score consistently out of your post. So, other than a defence that keeps conceding, a poor midfield, lack of pace and non-scoring strikers or midfield players we are ok. For a moment I thought we were in trouble.
