Just want to say that I find the manager’s English is very poor. At times in interviews he is incomprehensible. Therefore I question his ability to motivate our players. Surely they find it difficult to understand him too! Perhaps he should employ a translator.
Good job all those Watford and Fulham players spoke fluent Serbian

This is a good point.. I imagine he has to print off pictures of dog shit and point to it when he's speaking to brewster and mcburnie

We totally dominated the first 60 mins, missed several clear chances, felt asleep for their goal and then became shambolic. We were the better team overall and had far more chances than them but the last 30 mins were pathetic.
We didn't touch the ball for the first 10 minutes! Usual slow start. Don't think we dominated but best side granted. They were crap.

We weren't poor, far from it. We just struggle with the basics when we lose the ball ie long balls, physicality etc
Sounds like we were poor just from your description!
And from my seat, we looked very very poor, for all but about 13mins of the second half, straight after half time, we looked like we had decided to make a game of it, but then reverted back to being shit.

Some of the best football I've seen today at BDTBL, for a long long time.
Fulham fans said it will be a work in progress, it is.
Yes there are issues still to deal with, but if there weren't, it would be a finished work and it isn't....yet.
Slav knows what he's doing. Get the players he needs in the JTW and get the players who stay to keep buying in what he's trying to achieve.
We just need to work on some of the fans now to do the same 🙄

Agree that’s a reasonable stance to take, we do play a PL style of football.
Also agree that we look the better side in most matches, we always have better possesion stats, shot stats, corner stats
and always seem to have a better XG than the opposition.

So the underlying signs look very promising. Basically the stats say we’re a much better team than our position.

However for how long do we hold our nerve?
We often seem to be unlucky but it’s nonsense to suggest we’re unlucky most matches….there’s obviously something brittle about this team.
I’m sat on the fence at the moment….even though our current position is poor…it’s a long season and there is still signs for optimism.

However it could turn into a David Weir type scenario.
It’s great that the manager wants us to play a nice possession based passing style but if it’s not effective then how patient should we be?
Also the defence and goalie often have little to do but can’t seem to keep a clean sheet.
I said mid way through the 2nd half there’s no way you can see Blackpool scoring….then they score out of the blue from nothing.

Blackpool were shite, one of the worst teams I've seen for a while and they beat us at our ground in quite an easy way by just being organised and sticking to a game plan. The knew that our defence is a shambles and would gift them at least one opportunity....which we all knew and we all know will happen the next game and the game after that. We are a side that, unless we somehow learn to defend and become a bit nastier and organised in the next few months are going to finish anywhere between midtable and bottom 3. Before anyone says Slavs game plan is to outscore the opposition and not worry too much about defending, well this plan will get him the sack as we don't score very many due to taking about 6 guilt edged chances to notch one goal. Hope he can sort it out but we look physically and mentally weak as piss.

Just watched Rotherham ....running ,pressing , positive balls down channels , running down lost causes ,scoring with headers FROM CORNERS !! passing quickly , a bit like us what seems years ago now..... Just about all our squad are better players..... Slav and his Spanish coaches haven't made it seems to me an iota of difference ???... time will tell but we all know what happens if ( when ) we fail this season.....IN debt Championship also ran's ....??.
Not sure it's relevant but doesn't the Spanish national side and barca to a degree and citeh barely play an out and out striker. What I mean is quality everywhere, goals from many places but we don't have 3 quality potential goal scoring players, never mind 10 on the pitch and 9 knocking on the door/bench

How will he get the players in - we have one loan - maybe two?

We do not have money for permanent signings - we are stuck with ageing players under contract for another 2-3 years and busts like Mcburnie and Brewster on big wages. We will probably have to sell before we can bring any in - Berge, Ndiaye etc

I remain unconvinced. Critchley's changes worked and he countered with McGoldrick on the left wing. The fade out in many of our games is a worry as we are playing for maybe 30-35 minutes in games and teams finish much stronger. to constantly concede goals late on at home is a real concern.

We play neat stuff but often no end product and at the back we are easy to score against.

Many more issues than positives sadly as the table/results show. We have beaten noone any good outside Stoke (if you call them good).

Teams will just sit back and pick us off.

We need a big centre half, a physical midfielder, a ball player in midffield and two wingers. We aint signing half a team in January. Willl he hang around for a few windows? We will see.

Ozzy was shite from start to finish can’t pass won’t Shiite and needs three touches
But he never stops running must be ok then
Didn’t say he was having a great game - just lose all balance when he is subbed on that left side.
Then the shit show starts.

Nail on head.

If he carries on the current approach and way of playing, we will lose a lot more and fans will get impatient and he will end up going. Sad to say.

He needs to change how he is going about things as even ordinary teams are just countering us and scoring way too easily. We will not outscore many at this level as we are not good enough individually or collectively to do that.

He faces a big week as doing the same things and same approach will yield more poor results I feel.

I hope he can turn it around but either he needs to stop picking the same two in midfield and/or be a bit more pragmatic.

It's not his fault he has inherited this sack of shite, but his subs are rank.

What are his midfield options to improve the team?
I agree in that I assume Hourihane was expected to have a bigger impact but has largely disappointed so far. Don’t understand the point of signing Guedioura though if the guy is never getting any game time.

I think this is all great and I agree, but we haven’t got a pot to piss in so there won’t be any incomings unless we sell…..(unlikely) or we get some major investment.

On your thread last Sunday you were quick to condemn anyone who got personal without offering a structured argument against your very flawed & unconvincing attempt at calling for Slavs head after a win.

What's that phrase about people in glass houses?

Don’t consider that personal abuse but that was aimed at SJ. He’s naive, at best.

It is not just a case of raising cash by selling the likes of Freeman, Robinson, Berge, Burke but also removing the wage burden from the club.
all of the aforementioned could leave and not weaken the team as they are currently not playing, I include Berge as I think he is nailed on to go if we can get our money back, if not getting close I.e. £5m under purchase price he will stay in the hope he remains fit, improves his overall game and subsequently increases in value.
But Wilders claims that he will treat the clubs money as if it were his own etc. Etc. Is miles wide of the mark as he has wasted all the profits he gained by getting us into the premiership and in addition left us with a totally unbalanced squad which will take at least another two windows to sort out.

My Watford supporting mate has been closely watching us since slav joined , talking to him tonight he has said to stick with him that he will get it right , I have said this before he has inherited a poorly put together squad that's down on its arse mentally and that's only one man's fault !!! we don't have any premier quality footballers other than what we have loaned and I for one am quite happy to back what he trying to do. I think it will be next season before we can look forward a proper top 2 push , for me anything else will be a bonus before then
He has had one transfer window he needed to assess the squad and covid hasn't helped
FFS give him time
