Good signing as it stands
Full Circle. We've returned to the days of signing players who had their best days 4 years ago. Doesn't seem two minute's ago we where looking at top draw players. Chris what went wrong.
Well we had a go at trying to identify and buy some top drawer players, we even threw around £100 million quid in, turned out we where wank at it.

I think he replaces Fleck in the starting line up, he’s more offensive than defensive so I’d expect someone like Morsy, Guedioura and ultimately Vieira in for Norwood.
I think fleck has been overall poorer than Norwood (just), but I don't think there's anyway you could play Norwood and Hourihane in the same team.

Too similar as players in my opinion we would be worse in midfield with both playing. Surely he takes norwoods role.

If Slav is also after a “Ratter” like Morsy I just can’t see that alongside the current version of Fleck whereas Morsy, Hourihane, Berge I can.

I've decided to just call him Conor, like with Billy, much simpler

Totally underwhelming signing IMO...past his best, no pace and no better than Fleck / Norwood (on previous form).....signing(s) required that can run fast with the ball and beat players please...

Possibly I only said that as not sure if Slav has any more lined up, personally I'd like Fleck & Norwood nowhere near team now they've had their time. The only problem with loans is if you do really well then more often than not they don't sign, and it leaves you weaker.

looking at the villa forum… “model pro” “always gives 100%” “gets stuck in for his team mates” “freekick specialist”. However… “doesnt have the athleticism for the PL”.

Hope we dont have another Oli Norwood on our hands, but generally i like how they talk of him, scored some vital goals for them and hope he can do the same for us

Saw the lad tonight, looked as fit as a Butcher's Dog (to use an old phrase), a six footer without a spare ounce of fat on him, (in a good way, not skinny), I would be amazed if this kid can't play 90 minutes without slowing down.

Not prepared to give him half a dozen matches to see if you are right or wrong ? Harsh.

What, no song yet ?

(I'm assuming we're not pronouncing the "e" at the end of Hourihane)

Loaned him from the Villa and we hope he scores
We're fed up with losing an' only getting draws
Hoorah sang The Blades off we go
Coz we can't hit a barn door with a fucking banjo

Hear our shouts, hear our roar
We hope Connor's better than Bo-bb-ee Moore
Hoorah, hoorah Hourihane
He used to play for Barnsley where he lived in a cara-van

I couldnt watch the match yesterday, how did he do?
I'm assuming us scoring from two corners now he's come in to replace Norwood isn't a coincidence?

A passenger out of possession. Some nice set pieces. Fleck continued his resurgence. The new guy was very tidy on the ball and got booked straight away for a bad tackle.

I didn't notice that Hourihane was the player swinging those corners.

He really wasnt, he made a few tackles which is alot more than norwood would have done.

I counted two and one foul that he probably should've been booked for when I watched it back earlier. Enough against Hull but maybe not against the better sides.

better than the 0 norwood would have contributed, along with the 0 assists he has

Both are not good enough out of possession. if yesterday and Swansea fan comments are anything to go on. Norwood has the switch and diagonals; Hourihane has the set pieces and the odd long rang goal. Hobson's choice. Neither thanks.

I don't know how you can say "neither thanks". Yesterday he provided two superb set piece assists for Egan's goals. If he wasn't on the pitch we probably wouldn't have won. If yesterday is anything to go by his contribution could be huge for us.

Just amazes me how people continue to right players off when they've barely stepped through the door.

I said "if yesterday and Swansea fan comments are anything to go by" so no, I haven't written him off. Hopefully he does better than that. I acknowledged the set piece improvement and Norwood's strengths?!

Are we going to see him again after yesterday's performance?

Been poor so far , not sure if he suits our system .. hasn’t offered anything different to what we already have
