By your logic, CW made all the money without being a penny ie nowt, you have to accept that any subsequent large losses are down to him to a great extent. On that basis, what are your current valuations of McBurnie, Brewster, Burke and Berge?
Where were we when Wilder took over again and the squad we had ,at that time ,come on.

League 1 struggling. He was backed at that level. You said he wasn’t.

If he earned the money by his successes, he wasted it - as things stand - by his failed signings. You can’t have it both ways.

let’s be right, this is a collection of below par championship players built on a System that was immense and unique. Wilder deserved immense credit for that and I hope that isn’t lost in the history recall. Let’s not undermine the quality of that system, it got us to 9th placed finish in the prem but wow any other system exposes them as individuals.

I feel for: Egan, Basham, Baldock…. McG, Norwood and Fleck (to a lesser extent) as they were vital cogs in the Wilderball generation but will inevitably struggle to adapt elsewhere.

however, the rest, oh dear god. That was bad. And they are mostly Wilder’s signings. What the hell he saw in: Robinson, Osborn, Burke, McBurnie, even Berge, is beyond me. I love almost everything about wilder but my word was he off with his signings.

In fact, almost every one of them!

It was widely reported at the time.
Can’t see where LJ ? The vast majority of money was generated by the FA Cup run in early days with Clough / Adkins . Wilder had to sell Rammers , DCL & Adams in order to generate money for his early days rebuild so where was this £15M invested as McCabe said he’d wrote of his loans to club so he’d invest . Al I’ve seen invested is the cash we’ve self generated last few years from my perspective.
We’re gonna reportedly get £24M plus addons for Rammers & have 2 years of parachute payments coming and potentially a the sale of Berge , yes I know they’ve still got a wage bill to service but reportedly ours was the lowest in the PL last season
Got to say I’m not confident in the slightest that he’s planning to part or invest a good portion of this cash and will prob look in loan market , talks a good game but seldom delivers for me … watch this space hope I’m proven wrong ⚔️

None of us know what’s going to happen.

Apart from those who seem to be able to guarantee HRH won’t let Slav spend it. All based on fact lite claims or, sometimes ignorance of the reality.

Well this one they’ve not spent anything

CW In last 12 month didn’t get enough either.

Hope that answers your question

CW had far too much given to him considering the Championship level players he was buying

He goes out of his way to sign Championship players for Premier League money, probably because in his own head he had to overpay to get a player to come here, such is the embarrassment for a player to come here.

Then having overpaid for the said Championship players he time and time again publicly declares them not good enough and moans about not being backed.

He then tries to leave at least twice before eventually walking out.

He wouldn't have got a penny from me in the January window either

I agree ST , the proof will be in the pudding ..I’m sure Slav wouldn’t have come without some assurances of what battle chest he’d get ..as said above I’m not that confident .. hope to fuck I’m wrong on this ⚔️

He was barely backed by mccabe the prince did next to nowt hence Mccabe trying to get rid of him.
Listen I'm no great Mccabe fan far from it but this guy when push comes to shove will be found wanting MMW.

What do you call “next to nowt” and where’s that info from?

For the record, in the 16/17 season, the L1 promotion year, the owners put £5.2m in cash into (50/50) Blades Leisure who then put £9.3m into the football club. Which covered the signings that year and some of the trading loss, cash wise.

That’s not nowt.

Are you for real what bollocks, fuck off .

To get Jokanovic the prince must have promised him a war kitty ,upto now it's a lie ,
It's crunch time ,Ramsdale will go on the 31st IMO.

Wtf I give up

We have a squad good enough to push for automatics. The manager isn't utilising them properly yet. The rest is hot air and excuses.
Disagree. This is a squad with too many poor and past it players, unfortunately.

Every player in the WBA first XI tonight was fitter, faster and stronger than basically every one of ours.

I think the simple way to look at Wilder's PL signings is to say how many of them would you get at least your money back on and how many would return a loss?

Profit - Ramsdale, Bogle

We've been fortune with Rammers. He hasn't been an unqualified success at all, in fact pre-Christmas he was sub par and I still think from a budget perspective a loan or cheaper outlay would have allowed recruitment elsewhere eg LCB rather than asking the Board to help when all the cash had gone. But he got POTY In a bad bunch, injuries to Pope and Henderson allowed him to go to the Euros and Arsenal are desperate for a home grown keeper. It's telling there are no rival bidders but quite a lot has gone our way on this one.

Bogle also hasn't been a resounding success as he's failed to dislodge Baldock so you could argue keeping Freeman and investing in a first team starter would have been more prudent however he seems to be on a list of attacking right backs behind Max Aarons that would turn a profit for us if he left.

Loss - Freeman, Robinson C, Mousset, Osborn, McBurnie, Robinson J, Berge, Burke, Brewster, Lowe

Almost everyone else goes at a loss. You can make the argument that some pay for themselves because they gave us a second year. But these weren't 29 year olds who did their bit but age lost them their value. They lost value because they have worse reputations than when we bought them. Where to start?

Freeman, bought for a club record, never picked. Despite JL7 issues, we offloaded him to Forest and found ourselves short of midfield options. Probably leaves on a free next summer.

Robinson C/Burke - moved on at a loss for Burke, who I'd also expect to struggle for takers.

Mousset - for all the piss taking of Jordon Rhodes, here's a player who cost 10m, played ok for a couple of months and has been a liability ever since. Will leave for free in the summer.

Osborn - had done ok but even now 3.5m for a game trier seems a bit much. Players like him are ten a penny and there must have been frees who could achieve the same. Leaves for free in the summer.

Lowe - I'm surprised even Swansea are interested. Won't buy him though.

Robinson J - Bang average mid to low Championship player. Nobody pays no ey for him. Probably leaves whenever his deal expires. Always good for an opposition goal.

McBurnie - for 17m I don't see any goals that he scored that Sharp couldn't have scored whilst Sharp's at Bournemouth and West Brom he certainly wouldn't have scored. Edging towards an almost 1 in 10 goal to appearance ratio.

Berge - looks great on the tin. But not showing it now under his third consecutive manager. Hope we play on his reputation of part of the Norwegian golden generation but it is telling that other teams rate him between 10-17m figures.

Brewster - laughable that we paid 23m for him, didn't strengthen midfield, failed to strengthen left centre back and then by the end a 17 year old Academy player was ahead of him.

That's not forgetting the wasteful free transfers of Jags, who apart from Man U away conceded 3 every time he played and we may as well have kept Stearman on lower wages plus Rav, Rodwell and Foderingham which bordered on desperate to bewildering.

I hope we can offload a few before year end because for the uptick on Rammers plenty are leaving for a loss or in mnay cases nothing at all in the summer.

That's the big question and one that will completely decide this season
The Rammers money isn't enough - he needs the Berge money too - Berge is useless to us in the here & now , 6'5" of polished powder puff will get you nowhere in a league which WBA will boss , crudely , but boss it they will.

Berge has no heart for this level or style.

I've only been saying this for 6 months but hardly anyone believed me ........... they do now.

Gerrim selt + give Boris the Blade a heavy (reliable) gun to deal with the WORTHLESS wage-stealing fuckers in this squad.

If the gun fails to shoot , he can always bludgeon them to death with it.

IT'S THE ONLY WAY - no sane club is gonna buy or rent them.

Then buy some talent that's on an upward curve , totally unlike :

the entire feckin squad apart from Jebbo.

and if you're having trouble sleeping , like Boris & me , remember that Wilder swapped Calum Robinson for Burkey Boy.

that's Calum Robinson who has 6 goals in his last 9 games for WBA and 3 in his last 3.

And Burkey Boy who ran down the left at full speed straight over the byline into an advertising hoarding , without even thinking about checking his run to fool the defender or putting in a cross before he hit the buffers and almost broke his own leg.

THAT'S WILDER'S ABILITY TO ASSESS STRIKERS , RIGHT THERE !

FECK ME , DID ANYONE FROM THE LANE ACTUALLY WATCH BURKEY BOY BEFORE BRINGING HIM IN ?

He looked incredible for Fulham. £2.5m a year on a player in the Pl that is probably worth £10m if you sold him.

CW had an eye for a player just couldn’t sign any of them
Incredible is a quite the leap, he wasn't a guaranteed starter so not a chance in hell he becomes top earner overnight. No one predicted Enda becoming awful as he did! I'd imagine Fulham as a place has a little bit of a pull over Sheffield too.

Not only incredible, but along with cash swift and Watkins... we stay up.

Somehow I doubt it.

Soon as grealish was injured last season, no goals for Watkins.

It seems kinda like CW predicted he would become awful. He must have seen him form be destroyed with no fans and then wanted a quality left back in Robinson.

This is how you turn a team over so it’s new and fresh and not what we have now.
