Silent Blade . You should have stood with me in the queue yesterday. I would have told those around me you had spent a hour parking the car.
Thanks, the queue was much longer at 4pm than I thought it would be. Trouble was that I was driving my mum, sister and daughter back from Shiregreen and I told them that I wouldnt be too long. The car park stewards wouldnt let me park my car temporarily in Cherry Street car park so I found a spot at Shoreham Street. When I saw the long queue I was hoping that there might be a shorter queue for picking up tickets that were already bought. The ticket office attendant said "No" so I decided to go back Dronfield and then leave for the match after tea much earlier than planned. When I got back to the car park around 6.30pm , the queue was much shorter and then I was told that there is a kiosk for ticket collections further down so it didnt take me long to pick up the ticket from the kiosk.

Based on my experience for the last 2 matches, there has been no benefit to buying tickets online as I've had to queue to pick them up anyway (and paid £1 booking fee for the privilege).

Last time I left picking up tickets until before the match was Inter Milan where the queue started halfway down Bramall Lane, then they didn't even have our tickets so had to take someone else's (as it was 20 mins after KO by this point).

When was the last time we had that many in a competitive game and won the match?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer was “never”. Possibly before WW2 or maybe in an early JPT game (I remember the likes of McAllister and Philiskirk Jnr playing in those when we were in L1). When you consider we’re not even a Cat 1 academy we’re doing very well at the moment.

We do have a great academy it is just a pity that the first team never get the benefit of all the up and coming talent coming through . Other clubs don't have no problem pinching them for next to nothing. As for the blades is it me or are there others who are pissed off with the club being linked to players who never arrive. there must have been a dozen or more in the last 12 months who we were told they are on their way and end up somewhere else . Latest one has signed for Stoke , If we can not compete with Stoke for players why should be bother .

Probably never then.

We beat Rotherham 1-0 in 2014 with 6 academy graduates but it wasn't all their debuts:

Long
Kennedy
Maguire
Dimaio
Khan
Reed

It's been a while since we played with so many graduates to be honest

It goes to show why we should be cautious with our optimism for academy lads making it in our first team. Only Maguire could be deemed a success from that lot.

Poor Terry Kennedy though. I think he'd have been a solid player for us. An exceptional reader of the game and a bit of a hard bastard to boot.

I just checked so you didn’t have to, Connor Dimaio plays for Boston United in the conference north. Terry Kennedy plays for Alfreton at the same level.

Possibly in the Kenworthy, Ludlum, Edwards era?
No, the only player out of three you mentioned that won on his debut was Kenworthy. 3-1 at Norwich. Stainrod (his debut was the 5-0 defeat at Spurs the previous week) scored in that match and is still the youngest ever Blade scorer

Didn’t he get 2 that day??
Was there but can only remember 1
