Well its all a bit quite while DW sorts out his 2011/12 assault on league 1. So just wondered how people were born on a match day if so who were we playing, score, which league we in and position in table after that win. Just a bit of fun all info you can find on

http://www.statto.com/football/teams/sheffield-united

Fortunately i was my birth date is 4th May 1982, we played Rochdale, won 3-1 in Division 4 and were top of the table.

Yep, we drew 2-2 at home to Huddersfield. I always thought it was Blackburn, oh well.

My birthday is the end of May so the only time we ever play close is if we're in the play-offs... and we know how they end :(

March 16th 1963 we played Southampton away in the FA Cup. I believe we lost 1-0 ! I have the program and a shirt related to that game, must get round to having them framed.
UTB!

Nope, no match on the day I was born. But 3 days previously we won 2-0 at home to Aston Villa in the old First Division, and were sitting at 19th in the table.

19 out of 22 isn't that bad, but the depressing thing is that Wednesday were in 3rd place. :(

Had to scroll a fair way down....Old Division One - played day before and lost 5-0 at ManU - but we did double over wendys that season and they were relegated :) We were 16th in league at time and eventually finished 13th.

No match on the day I was born 13th Sept 77 - My birthday was sandwiched between a 4-0 drubbing at Stoke and a 0-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at home and in 33 years nothings changed!

29th August 1986.

We went into my birthday on the back of a defeat at The Hawthorns.

But the following day, Saturday 30th August 1986, we beat Leeds away, 1-0.

I was born Saturday September 20th 1980 at 6:45pm, an hour after the final whistle went at a 1-0 defeat away at Huddersfield.

I was born on FA Cup Final day...

And as I still have the capacity to type, walk, stand up, piss in the bog rather than a bag and remember my name; it's safe to assume The Blades weren't playing.

We beat Wolves at home 1-0, the season when Derby County won the league

We beat Leeds in the League Cup at Bramall lane on the day I was born (8.9.70). I have the programme. We lost in the next round to Spurs.
We were in the old second division back then and finished the season 2nd behind Leicester to gain promotion to the old first division.

Yep Philliskirk, I was there.

we drew 2-2 with the mighty "cobblers"
01.01.1966 Northampton Town home D2-2
but heres an odd sight, if footballers today complain of tiredness, spare a thought for the blades of season 1965/66
22 27.12.1965 Tottenham Hotspur away L0-1
23 28.12.1965 Tottenham Hotspur home L1-3
played spurs home and away on consecutive days, lost both :(

MunXy
ps we did win our only ever world cup the year i was born :)

Mines the 29th of June so I very much doubt it Id assume even back then they were all sunning themselves on holiday or in some pub.

Not on my birthday, but 2 days after on 12th September 1953, we beat the swine 2-0, how that must have disappointed my family, as apparently by the time I was 24 hours old, I was in the swine supporters club, by the time I was 48 hours old we had between them 2-0, I must have seen the light at an early age.

Yep Philliskirk, I was there.

Was a good finish, he was one on one with the keeper. (I watched it on telly!)

In the 1960 - 61 season there is no match on my birthday.
I am sandwiched between the 2 1-1 draws of Norwich and Sunderland.
However it was a great season. We were promoted to division 1 after finishing 2nd behind Ipswich

1971 I was between an away win at WETS SHAM and a home win over Coventry

16th November 1977.

England beat Italy 2-0 at Wembley.

Regarding the Blades, The Blades won 1-0 at home to Oldham on the 12th, and lost 3-0 at Charlton on the 19th.

My Dad was a fireman at the time, and it was the first few days of the firemans strike of 1977, and i was the first strike baby born during that strike.

Lost to Manchester Utd 3-1 away the day before I was born and we went on to get relegated in last place that season.

Interestingly my first season as a Blade (1955-56) we finished 22nd, and bottom, in Division 1 and were relegated with the worst home goals for in the league.

All my life's a circle

Four days before my birthday drew 1 -1 at Forest, day after drew 0-0 at Leicester in Div 2

season before CG Blade

fek i'm old...

The day before I was born we played the grunters at home in the old 1st Division and lost 3-2 (beer was less than 9 old pennies a pint).

We beat Leeds in the League Cup at Bramall lane on the day I was born (8.9.70). I have the programme. We lost in the next round to Spurs.

Billyblade, this was my 21st Birthday. What a night, especially all my Leeds mates from Uni came down to watch the match and help me "celebrate"!

but on my 2nd birthday:-

The most famous match at Bramall Lane was on 8 September 1951, an encounter United won 7–3 in front of a crowd of 51,075. Wednesday scored after just ninety seconds through Thomas, but goals from Derek Hawksworth and Harold Brook gave United a 2–1 interval lead which would have been greater if McIntosh in the Wednesday goal had not saved a Fred Furniss penalty. Dennis Woodhead equalised for Wednesday after sixty minutes, but in rapid succession, Alf Ringstead, Hawksworth and Ringstead again, and Fred Smith scored for United, Woodhead pulled one back for Wednesday before Brook made the score 7–3 in a match never to be forgotten by United fans.

Forget your Boxing Days!

Was there for that match - normally travelled with my Uncle in his car but he didn't go - went on bus organised by another Uncle - waited resplendent in red and white scarf and when bus turned up was local branch of Leeds supporters . Remember seeing Billy Bremner on their team bus after..sick as....Brilliant season, great football, happy days :).
