Signings made by Fulham under Jokanovic

Denis Odoi could be a decent shout for RCB, Belgian, a favourite of SJ and plays the overlap, looks like he is available at Fulham too, a bit old though

What's Ollie Norwood up to these days, seemed to do ok for Slav in the Championship

Read a similar article earlier on fb and it was a transfer committee at Fulham with Slav not having much say , in fact Slav went public saying they wouldn’t get any of his suggestions in !
The committee signed 16 players over one summer and expected Slav to make them into a team ... they gave him 14 games before sacking him !

I do think our board, PA in particular want more input in to players we recruit and can see them dictating this a little, but one assumes that Slav has said something along the lines of, "fair do's if you get some players in for me, but I do want some input as opposed to the big fuck off tablet I was given everytime I opened my mouth at Fulham" before agreeing to terms......

That was after they’d been promoted. He had to deal with the players who’d got them up asking why they were all being replaced, often by players who’d not been in a relegation fight before. Tony Khan thought he was playing money ball when he was just fucking everything up. Slav was completely undermined. I know Fulham fans, I live within walking distance of the Cottage, they all blamed Khan and loved Slav.

This is true, it's impossible to analyse his signings there because Tony Khan signed the vast majority of the players, one exception was Mitrovic, but can't see him coming yet. I did have a look now for an article, the best seems to be from the Independent, but you have to log on to read the full article. It does say that he likes a core of British players, so he should be happy with us then!

Fulham fans were very critical of Tony Khan in terms of recruitment, and not allowing Jokanovic to have a greater say.

He was only there about six months, one transfer window - the winter one, so not many most likely.

I think a lot of his criticism is valid but “You have to aim to build a squad that is good enough to not only go up, but to survive once promoted.” is a bit naive. He’s right about loans, you shouldn’t be too reliant on them but every club that goes up has to strengthen and how well a club does that tends to determine whether or not they stay up. Even then, you often need a bit of good fortune, like Villa had.
The difference in wages between the two leagues means you can’t do what we tried to do under McDonald, where many of the players were PL standard, you just couldn’t afford the wages of players like Graham Stuart, Hutchison etc. You have to sign players you hope will be able to step up, and add to that once you’re promoted.

Fulham may have been better off doing what we’ve tried to do, sign young players on permanent contracts. It didn’t keep us up but, when all’s said and done, we’ve got two young strikers who’ve had success at championship level before as well as good championship players like Osborne, Bogle and even Robinson is looking decent. Get that lot performing, along with the older players and the ones we’ll bring in and we should be in a decent position.
Or, to look at it another way, their good loan players will be gone, with nothing in return. We’ll probably lose Berge but we’ll get our money back, possibly more. I’d say we’re in a better position than them.
