Sorry mate, Watford. Was typing about Wolves in a Forest thread and got my tits in a twist.
From what I’ve seen, deeper, but has the energy to play box to box. Similar to Berge so could be a replacement for him or a direct threat to Norwood.Where abouts does he play in midfield?
Bit of an uninspiring signing tbf looked good in the champ a few years ago for Preston but not done much since will have to trust Big Slav
Solid addition as long as he is a bench player to make an impact
Nick cox has been promoted to be head of their set up I think so obviously he’ll know us inside out. If it weren’t for Rooney we should be front of the queue for Man U players.Got a good relationship with Man Utd, with some of their Academy staff ex-SUFC and Henderson kicking on with us. I’d imagine he’s coming here if he goes out on loan.
I would welcome anybody being competition for Norwood after last seasonFrom what I’ve seen, deeper, but has the energy to play box to box. Similar to Berge so could be a replacement for him or a direct threat to Norwood.
with all the systems weve been discussing on here just wonder if 4231 is a possibility as well and that would enable mcgoldrick to play in the middle of the 3 linking up with the 2 pivotsIf we secure him I’d be expecting him in the double pivot with Berge. Not seen loads of him but never had him down as an attacking/creative midfielder. Him and Elliott would balance each other nicely if we could get both out their parent clubs and this is the level of loan deal we should be using our parachute money on.
I was thinking the same. Like a 4-2-1-2-1 with Dids pulling strings from a deeper floating Duffy role.with all the systems weve been discussing on here just wonder if 4231 is a possibility as well and that would enable mcgoldrick to play in the middle of the 3 linking up with the 2 pivots
think it would probably be more like 4141 if were going down that route same system bielsa uses but if we did go 4231 i doubt the 2 would both be holding midfieldersWe don’t need two holding midfield players in the Championship and the drawbacks of that system were highlighted for long periods in a number of England’s matches in the Euros .
As I’ve said before , I’d love us to go 4-1-3-2 and even with the current squad , I’m sure we have sufficient quality and experience to see off the majority of teams in our league using that formation .
A Prem loan is more likely to mean less time on the pitch - even at Brentford, unless he is exceptional, in which case, why loan at all?Would be a good, if expensive, loan option to add more quality and legs to Utd's depleted midfield. I'd be surprised if he has another Champ loan though - I would have thought he would have been ready for a season in the Prem.

I wouldn’t lend Rooney ten bob, never mind a player I’m hoping to develop. It’s unlikely to benefit a young player being involved in the shitshow at Derby, it would be very unprofessional to loan players to Rooney just because he’s ex Man U.Nick cox has been promoted to be head of their set up I think so obviously he’ll know us inside out. I wouldn’t say Rooney has the same relationship with them that Lampard had with Roman and Chelsea.I wouldn’t lend Rooney ten bob, never mind a player I’m hoping to develop. I completely agree but they did it last year with tengi who is rated highly over the Pennines. Don’t think Rooney has an in with cox but with ole and the owners he doesI wouldn’t lend Rooney ten bob, never mind a player I’m hoping to develop. I think Lampard and Morris were considered “safe hands” to develop players like Mount. Rooney’s a car crash. Derby are a car crash club (literally). I wouldn’t want youth team players being exposed to that kind of culture, can’t imagine Cox or OGS do either. Even trying to think like a neutral, I can’t see any decent young player choosing them over us.I wouldn’t say Rooney has the same relationship with them that Lampard had with Roman and Chelsea.
I can’t see them loaning any of their A* young talent only those theyre maybe looking to move on and need a shop window.
You mean Mengi? I guess the quality of his experience there may dictate future policy. He may have been full of praise for how he was handled there and has shown a marked improvement following the loan. Or he may not…I completely agree but they did it last year with tengi who is rated highly over the Pennines. Don’t think Rooney has an in with cox but with ole and the owners he does
That’s the one. I think I was probably wrong in saying they’d rival us for loan players especially garner as he’s now established at champ level where as I think due to the situation derby are in they’ll be getting lads on their first loan like mengiYou mean Mengi? I don't think anyone expected Rooney to be quite such the utter failure that he's proven to be so far.I completely agree but they did it last year with tengi who is rated highly over the Pennines. Don’t think Rooney has an in with cox but with ole and the owners he does
